Reckless (Japanese: すてみ Life-Risking) is a Pokémon ability introduced in Generation IV. Eleven Pokémon have this Ability.

Effect

In battle

Reckless increases the base power of moves which cause recoil or crash damage by 20%.

Outside of battle

Reckless has no effect outside of battle.

Mystery Dungeon

Reckless doubles the base power of any move which is affected.

Trivia

• Despite Wood Hammer and Volt Tackle both being affected by Reckless, no Pokémon that has this ability naturally can learn either of these moves.
  • Hitmonlee can be taught Metronome in Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald and occasionally summon these moves with it—however, this Ability did not exist in those games, so a Hitmonlee with Metronome cannot have Reckless as its ability.
