What is with all the kanji?

...yeah, basically that. There's no kanji in the games, so why are the Japanese ability names written with kanji? 梅子 15:49, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

It needs to be roundied too. TTEchidna 22:44, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
If someone really likes kanji, why not use {{tt}} or a new column? Substy 06:11, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Sort error

Sorting by the index numbers in the table doesn't work right. AztecCroc (talk) 01:56, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

Fixed, should work fine now.
(Alternatively, if Cacophony should remain at the top, data-sort-type=number could be added to the third line of {{Langlist/h}}, not sure which is better.) Nescientist (talk) 13:55, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

Inconsistency

Some of the Romaji are actually romaji and others are transliterations. I added transliterations in Gen VIII because the infobox said so.- unsigned comment from LaprasLaplace (talkcontribs)

What you added are translations. Transliteration is the process of rendering the characters into letters in a different writing system. As a rule of thumb, words that are based on English words are spelled as how they are in English. --超龍Chao 01:23, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Well some like Screen Cleaner are translations LaprasLaplace 12:27, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
Because it's English words transcribed into katakana. It just isn't the exact English name, like Power Spot is. Similar to how Neuroforce is spelled Brain Force in katakana. And don't resign unsigned signatures; one point of signatures is the correct time stamp. Kai * the Arc Toraph 01:23, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

Are the colours necessary?

I feel like this is a clear case of too much colour. Are they encoding any precise information I'm unaware of? Or are they just vaguely based on associations with the types they're most commonly assigned to (or the colours used on their infoboxes)? If the former, I'd like to suggest using a less garish set of colours; if the latter, I think we might consider doing away with individual colours altogether. Pichugetic (talk) 14:06, 9 February 2023 (UTC)

Honestly i agree. We could do the "light" versions of these colors, but honestly the colors aren't necessary for a table like this to begin with. Anzasquiddles (talk) 15:12, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
I guess it looks like the "moves in other languages" (where the color represents the move type), but otherwise I agree, too. Nescientist (talk) 18:51, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
