Sterling (Japanese: シュンヤ Shunya) is a recurring character who first appeared in Narrowing the Chaser Chase!. He is one of the Challengers taking part in Project Mew.
History
Sterling was first seen taking part in the battle royale Trial Mission at Sea Mauville, using his Vikavolt to battle and defeat an Abomasnow and a Golduck when he encountered Lyla. Sterling was offered the chance to team up with Lyla, which he accepted. They continued to explore Sea Mauville, defeating fellow challengers and evading the Roselia and Magby that Danika unleashed to make the mission harder.
Later, they came across Goh and Horace and made them think that Lyla's Liepard was defeated. This was soon revealed to be a trick, allowing Sterling and Lyla to attack Horace's Gardevoir, causing it serious damage. Sterling teamed up with Lyla to battle Goh's Inteleon, but Goh was successful in defeating Vikavolt, causing Sterling to fail the mission. Sterling then joined with all the other challengers and Danika and received a video message from Quillon.
In Chasing to the Finish!, Sterling appeared at the Split-Decision Ruins, where Gary and Goh were taking part in a Project Mew mission. Working with Lyla, he tried to interfere in their mission, but was eventually stopped. Afterwards, he watched as they took on an Regidrago and Regieleki, which they proceeded to catch, completing the mission.

| Vikavolt is Sterling's first known Pokémon. It was used during the battle royale Trial Mission at Sea Mauville, where it teamed up with Lyla and her Liepard. After attacking Horace's Gardevoir, it battled Goh's Inteleon, only to be defeated by Liquidation.
