To celebrate the release of the {{OBP|Detective Pikachu|movie}} film, a special {{TCG|Detective Pikachu}} subset was released. Boosters for the set were available solely through specially marked products starting March 29, 2019 in Europe and April 6, 2019 in North America. The first was the '''Detective Pikachu Case File'', which features the eponymous Pokémon as a {{TCG|SM Black Star Promos|SM Black Star Promo}} and includes two Detective Pikachu boosters, one booster for another Sun & Moon Series expansion, a Detective Pikachu {{TCG|coin}}, and a code card for the [[Pokémon Trading Card Game Online]].
