This card was reprinted in the {{TCG|VS}} (Japan only) and {{TCG|EX Deoxys}} sets.  The EX Deoxys print of the card tweaks the wording to read as follows:

| effect = Flip a coin. If heads, search your discard pile for 2 Energy cards (1 if there is only 1), show them to your opponent, and shuffle them into your deck.

Additionally, the {{TCG|Expedition Base Set}} card {{TCG ID|Expedition|Power Charge|147}} bore the name Energy Charge when printed in {{pmin|France}}, {{pmin|Portugal}}, {{pmin|Brazil}}, and {{pmin|Spain}}.

Due to the fact that this card's name and, at the time of Power Charge's original Expedition release, effect slightly differed from Power Charge, it was ruled that "Energy Charge" and "Power Charge" were not the same card in the English-language printings. A similar situation would later affect {{TCG ID|Neo Genesis|Moo-Moo Milk|101}} from Neo Genesis and {{TCG ID|HeartGold & SoulSilver|Moomoo Milk|94}} from {{TCG|HeartGold & SoulSilver}}, where slight differences in name and effect resulted in a ruling saying they were two different cards.
