Meowth's Party

Meowth's Party is the ending theme for the Pokémon anime. Creatures, Inc. was responsible for the entire video, including the 3D CG for the Pokémon, background, and editing. The lyrics are written by Akihito Toda, the composition by Hirokazu Tanaka, and the song is sung by Inuko Inuyama as Meowth. "When I write Pokémon songs, I want my children to experience the impact of various music. The minor melody carries the emotions of many people. It's ephemeral and sad. It's like a major and minor. My Pokémon song compositions follow this methodology." (Hirokazu Tanaka) (October 27, 1999)

Release information

This card was included in the Gym Challenge expansion, first released in the Japanese Challenge from the Darkness expansion. It was rereleased in the Celebrations expansion's Classic Collection for the Pokémon 25th Anniversary. This print features the 25th Anniversary logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork and lacks Wizards of the Coast from the copyright information. In Japan, it was reprinted as part of the Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition with a red and gold "25th" logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork. Both prints are Confetti Holofoil and have etching similar to Full Art cards.

This card's Challenge From the Darkness print was included in the Pokémon Card Game 25th Anniversary Creatures Deck, a commemorative Half Deck given to Creatures, Inc. illustrators and staff members to celebrate the Pokémon 25th Anniversary and the company's 26th. In this deck, this card represents the year 1999 of the company's history, and the back contains information about the production of Meowth's Party, an ending theme for the Pokémon anime. This card has a "25th" stamp next to the illustration, and keeps the original set symbol and rarity.
