Excitement at the Hot Springs?! (Japanese: 温泉でドッキドキ!?, Excitement at the Hot Springs?!), is the first bonus chapter of the second volume of Magical Pokémon Journey.

Hazel wins two tickets to a hot spring resort. She wants to invite Almond, however, she has to be accompanied by an adult as she is still a minor. She considers bringing one of her parents, but eventually decides to invite Grandpa instead.

At the hot spring, Hazel buys everyone a drink from a vending machine. She gives Pikachu his drink first, then brings the rest back for the others. When she arrives, however, Pikachu has no drink and looks sad, presumably having drank it already.

Later, the group decide to relax in the resort's hot springs. Hazel asks Pikachu if he would like to come into the ladies' spring with her and Jigglypuff, or if he would like to go to the men's spring with Grandpa and Clefairy. Pikachu gets embarrassed and eventually decides to go into the men's spring. Later, though, while Hazel is still soaking in the spring, Pikachu rejoins her, but when the two leave, Pikachu is with Grandpa and Clefairy as well, with Grandpa saying that Pikachu never left.

When the group arrive back at the hotel room, they discover a huge group of Pikachu, which they discover are actually a group of Ditto. They determine which Pikachu is theirs by having Jigglypuff cook a meal and offer it to all of the Pikachu/Ditto. The Ditto don't know how bad Jigglypuff's cooking is, so they all eat it but the real Pikachu does not. After recovering, the Ditto apologise for causing trouble and leave the resort.
