Old Rod (Japanese: ボロのつりざお Worn-out Fishing Rod) is a Key Item introduced in Generation I. It allows the player to fish from bodies of water.
Good Rod and Super Rod are more powerful versions of this item.

The Old Rod allows the
player to fish for Pokémon in bodies of water. The Pokémon encountered will be at a lower level than those encountered by using the Good Rod or Super Rod.
Stad Use in front of the sea, a river, etc., to fish for Pokémon.
