Give and Take (Japanese: 与えるものと奪うもの Giver and Taker) was the sixth legendary event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Professor Sycamore & Xerneas. This pair could be teamed up with by completing the final story area of the event, Flames of Conviction.
During this event, players could earn Legendary Prize Coins from battles that could be used to draw items from a prize box pool. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Challenge Pasio's Trainers: Part 1, which could only be challenged once per day. If the grand prize was drawn from the prize box, players could advance to the next prize pool. Extra Prize Coins were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.
The player could battle using Lysandre & Yveltal to earn +0.6× bonus Prize Coins; Serena & Fennekin/Braixen/Delphox or Clemont & Heliolisk to earn +0.4× bonus Prize Coins; and Professor Sycamore & Xerneas or Calem & Espurr/Meowstic to earn +0.2× bonus Prize Coins.
This event featured the Full-Force Battle, where players were challenged to defeat a large group of strong opponents. Similar to the Legendary Arena, players could use multiple teams with a limited number of total sync pairs, with the opponents' health carrying over between rounds and with previously used pairs unable to be used again until the challenge is reset.
Medals could be earned from event missions by completing Full-Force Battles. Other event missions rewarded players with Gems and additional copies of Professor Sycamore and Xerneas.
This story was added to Legendary Adventures on January 14, 2022.
First run
The event first ran from February 11 to March 4, 2021. The "Lysandre Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lysandre & Yveltal for the duration of the event.
In this run, players could earn Legendary Prize Coins E from battles against Professor Sycamore, Lysandre, and other Trainers on Pasio. All battles were available from the start except Full-Force Battle! Round 1, which was only unlocked after completing Challenge Pasio's Trainers: Part 1, and Full-Force Battle! Round 2, which was only unlocked after completing Full-Force Battle! Round 2. These battles rewarded players with a 3★ Strike Move Candy and a 4★ Strike Move Candy, respectively.
The grand prizes in the prize box included area info for event story areas, sync orbs for Professor Sycamore & Xerneas, 5★ Scout Tickets, Custom ★ Power-Ups for Professor Sycamore & Xerneas, 5★ Power-Ups, a Support Move Candy Coin, and a Tech Move Candy Coin.
Event missions rewarded players with Professor Sycamore & Xerneas's sync orbs for completing story areas up to As Friends..., and a 1★ medal was awarded for completing the story area Message to the Future.
Second run
The event reran from August 19 to September 16, 2021. The "Lysandre Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lysandre & Yveltal from August 20 to September 4, 2021.
In this run, the structure of the event was altered. Rather than pulling area info from the prize box, players alternated between completing story areas and completing event battles until all area info for the event had been unlocked. Full-Force Battle! Round 1 was now unlocked after completing Flames of Conviction, and Full-Force Battle! Round 2 now awarded a 4★ Tech Move Candy.
Players could earn Legendary Prize Coins N from battles, with these being given as battle rewards in addition to completion rewards. The grand prizes in the prize box included 3★ Level-Up Manuals, co-op sync orbs, 5★ Scout Tickets, Custom ★ Power-Ups for Professor Sycamore & Xerneas, and a Support Move Candy Coin.
Players no longer received mission rewards for completing each story area in the event. In addition, the mission objective for the 1★ medal was changed so that it would be awarded after after completing Flames of Conviction, the final story area of the event.
If the player had already raised Professor Sycamore & Xerneas to maximum potential, exchanges were available in the shop to convert their Custom ★ Power-Ups into 5★ Power-Ups or 3★ Power-Ups.
