:While the list is sortable, it appears to simply be a text sort. i.e. * for movies at the top, followed by AG, then DP, then EP for the original series. At least could that be fixed? (Sorry, I don't know how) Werdnae 08:29, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
::The only idea I have is to create a third "airing order" column with straight numerals for easy sorting. However, I've asked TTE for help; hopefully he'll be able to come up with something more streamlined. --Marton(I'm Jewish)imos 08:36, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
:::Hopefully, adding and commenting out the numerical order before the linked text will get it to sort properly. == I'm curious . . . ==
. . . I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to start an article about Pokémon that debut before their respective generation. The page would be big enough. All we would have to do is gather the information in chronological order of course and make sort of a history page about it. If you think a whole page is unnecesarry we could implement it into this-> ♫ It would take time but it would probably become a decent sized article and we could make a few links to it MarillAzurillWailmerBuizel ManaphyDonphanKecleon MunchlaxElectivireHo-OhLugiaSlowking. <font color="purple">Land</font><span style="font-family:Broadway"><small><font color="blue">fish</font></small></span><font color="red">7</font> 21:20, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

One for physical debuts, and one for actual debuts, I think this would be much better. Either like this, or similar, or one table listed in a different section:

Order
Since this page is a list of Pokémon by anime debut, shouldn't they be in that order rather than NDex order? I know it is sortable, but it would make more sense to sort them this way, since it says that it is in the title. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 08:32, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Does Haxours's appearence really count?
Since it's been made clear at the top of the page that the list only counts actual physical appearences, Haxours's appearences have so far only been in dreams and imagine spots. Fraxure had the benefit of appearing in a flashback. I just want it to be consistant.PDL 01:30, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
:You're right, our current (ridiculous) definition means that they both shouldnt be there (flashbacks don't count either.)

::1)I'd like to point out that both Fraxure and Haxuros appeared in a dream that was manufested into reality. 2)It was a good enough debute for them to start appearing in the opening. :::Hmmm... I forgot about that. Having said that, the text on the page does state that:
:::This list counts only actual appearances as official. Pokémon which appear on TV in the anime or in another manner before debuting in physical form, such as Nidorino and Gengar in EP001, count as debuting when they physically appear, not when they are first seen.
:::Since as far as I can remember, they both only appeared in Iris's imagination, and in flashbacks, they are best kept hidden untill someone changes this rule (If an Admin is reading this, please do) <small><span style="color:white; background-color:blue">X</span><span style="color:blue; background-color:white">Vuvuzela2010</span><span style="color:white; background-color:blue">X</span></small> 10:18, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Gen7 form differences
All the individual forms are listed for some Gen7 Pokémon (Oricorio, Lycanroc, Wishiwashi, Minior and Magearna) but not for Silvally, Solgaleo or Lunala. Is there any reason for this? Should the others be added? Kidburla (talk) 21:50, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
:I think Silvally shouldn't be listed for pretty much the same reason as Arceus: there's about a dozen and a half forms that don't really differ significantly, and the odds are poor that the anime will go out of its way to show every last one of them. As for Solgaleo and Lunala, I dunno. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 04:24, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
Inconsistency
I’ve been looking around a bit, and I've noticed this site is really inconsistent as to what counts as an actual Pokémon debut, primarily when it comes to physical appearance versus non-physical, fake, or fantasy appearances. For instance: Mew's main anime debut is considered to be Alola, Kanto!. While it previously appeared in A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine!, we're apparently not counting that appearance because it was in a fantasy. Meanwhile, the English dub debut of Dratini is considered to be Ditto's Mysterious Mansion rather than Beauty is Skin Deep, despite the fact the former was in a fantasy. TheFatPanda (talk) 13:54, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
:Agreed. I'd like to know what the standard is for this article as well. GrammarFreak01 (talk) 00:05, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
::In that case, Dratini had already appeared in EP035, which was banned in the US. ==Dynamax and Totem==
I was looking through the list and I was wondering, should Dynamax and Totem Pokemon really be included here? Totem Pokemon are just slightly larger than their regular form, other than the Totem Togedemaru, they aren't much different. While Dynamaxing can be applied to all pokemon (well, those available in the galar games), sans Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus, and pokemon that do undergo this don't have drastic changes in their appearance, unlike the Mega and Gigantamax forms. Animaltamer7 (talk) 11:12, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
:Yes, I also agree that the Dynamax sections are unnecessary. At some point, every Pokémon may have a Dynamax section if this is continued. --<span style="color:#ffd500">T</span><span style="color:#ffea00">otally</span><span style="color:#ffd500">T</span><span style="color:#ffea00">ob</span> 21:42, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
