Fidough (Japanese: パピモッチ Papimocchi) is a Fairy-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
Biology
Fidough is a small canine Pokémon. It has small, black beady eyes and stubby legs. Its ears are rounded and resemble bagels. It has smooth, moist skin that is off-white in coloration, with yellow accents on the top of its head, its eyebrows, the insides of its ears, around its neck, and on its tail. Fidough's skin has elastic qualities; when startled, they will puff themselves up to appear larger, in an attempt to intimidate their opponents.[1]
Fidough's breath contains yeast and is used to ferment things. Fidough has long been considered a companion for humanity, because its yeast is useful for cooking.[1]
Trivia
- Fidough shares its category with Growlithe, Lillipup, Rockruff, and Yamper. They are all known as the Puppy Pokémon.
Origin
Fidough resembles a puppy made from dessert dough.
Name origin
Fidough may be a combination of Fido (a stereotypical name for a pet dog), filo, and dough.
Papimocchi may be a combination of puppy and 餅 mochi.
