Bulbapedia:Staff: Difference between revisions

Bulbapedia's '''staff''' consists of five levels of responsibility, ranging from {{bp|Junior Administrators}} to the {{bp|Bulbagarden Executive Staff|Executive Staff}}. In addition to their powers and duties on the wiki, Bulbapedia staff have special ranks on the [[Bulbagarden forums]] and [[Bulbagarden Discord]] that allow access to dedicated areas where they discuss key decisions and strategic planning for Bulbapedia.

What Bulbapedia looks for in its staff is a willingness to contribute meaningfully. In accordance to Bulbagarden's [[Bulbapedia:Values|four core values]], Bulbapedia staff act as leaders for the encyclopedia, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all contributors.  

 

To become a member of staff, users are expected to contribute at a higher level by developing an expertise in Bulbapedia's practices and styles and then using that expertise to help less experienced contributors. Staff members are encouraged to explore new and unique ways to develop Bulbapedia's content, even regarding superficially ‘boring’ subjects.

1) Providing fans, staff, and the wider community with a safe and inclusive place to connect with each other and discuss all things Pokémon

 

2) Celebrating the diversity of the Pokémon community, and supporting these communities and marginalized groups through our platform and direct action

 

3) Offering the community and staff a chance to impact Bulbagarden and all Pokémon fans through opportunities to contribute, grow, develop, and lead

 

4) Becoming "the very best, like no one ever was" — seeking to challenge ourselves, push forward, and strive to improve ourselves and our community  

 

* Serve as an active contributor resource by answering user questions and concerns, taking an active role in wiki discussions on talk pages and/or equivalent

* Exemplify model behavior by upholding the {{bp|code of conduct}} at all times

* Participate in staff discussions regarding content coverage and overall wiki direction, maintaining adequate activity within staff work-spaces

* Moderate [[Special:RecentChanges|recent changes]] by fixing noticed issues, adding content improvement tags, and starting discussions on talk pages and/or equivalent

* Develop inexperienced editors by teaching Bulbapedia's [[Bulbapedia:Manual of style|styles and guidelines]]

* Assist with maintenance/backend tasks (moving/deleting images, updating protected pages, etc.)
