Bulbapedia:Archived nominations for administratorship/Maxim

Support (1)

  • Agree. He is a great user with lots of mainspace edits and really helpful in the manga section.--☆Coolピカチュウ! 06:39, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Oppose (9)

  • Disagree. Gets pissed off waaaaay too easily. That's reason enough. In addition, homophobes probably wouldn't make good admins. Think about that. It seems like you guys are just looking for someone to nominate. --ニョロトノ666 20:46, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Oppose. Sorry, but Politoed is right. --Baby G (talk to me) (see my edits) 19:51, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. Harsh, abusive, short-tempered, gets into edit wars at the drop of a hat, etc. Xenophobia is a bad trait, but it doesn't really have a bearing on how he'll do as an admin; still, that doesn't change the fact that he's not admin material to begin with. --((Marton imos)) 00:02, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. See all the above comments :\ He's a bit to... moody... ~~Takoto タコト| サソデイ = 愛 08:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. Sorry, but I have agree with the others here - Maxim just wouldn't make a healthy admin to whom people could go for advice. He's an important user that has done a lot for the Bulbapedia, but admins need to be approachable, and he has shown himself as just not that. Satosuke 04:55, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Supervehemently Disagree OMG. This is too much.--Diby 05:20, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. Sorry Maxim... But you do tend to fly off the handle easily. You do make excellent contributions and more contributions than some of the other people nomitated. But I'm just afraid you may let your temper get the better of you. --ケンジガール 05:34, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Disagree. He's like a volcano...you'll never know when he'll blow up. Θρtιmαtum♏Talk|Links
That's right. Because it is very hard to predict when someone screws things up or writes some crap on pages. Well, seeing that I'm out of Top Contributors list, there is another reason to vote against me - I'm not active anymore! --Maxim 15:49, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
You really don't get it, do you? The whole point is that you're not suppose to blow up every time someone screws up. You're suppose to calmly explain people's mistakes to them, and be open to their opinions. --electAbuzzzz 16:16, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. Because being nice to everyone is the whole point of being administator? So, why is {the woman I mean} still an admin at both Bulbagarden and Bulbapedia? --Maxim 16:27, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
I never said it was the whole point. That's as ridiculous as saying editing a lot is the whole point. I'm saying an admin needs to have both qualities. An admin needs to be able to solve conflicts, not scare away good-hearted newbies with potential. If you became an admin, you would've become a dictator. You know what? I just decided to vote - I Disagree with your nomination. And no, I have no idea who you're talking about. --electAbuzzzz 16:46, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
O RLY? You think I can't become and admin because I'm bad-tempered and cruel while there are much more cruel admins on Bulbagarden and no one complains about them. You're not making any kind of sense. Even as an admin, I wouldn't become a dictator because I wouldn't have enough powers to do so. And I'm pretty sure that if they gave me adminship {the woman I mean} would go in a rampage and scream "What an idiot gave this zealot adminship!!!!!11111111". So, please don't tell me anything about being nice. It's Bulbapedia, not the "Land of Nice People". --Maxim 16:52, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
First of all, your last comment was offensive (That is, before changed it), which further proves my point. Second of all, I now realize you're talking about one of my favorite admins around here, actually. She's not mean. She's open-minded and reasonable. And had she said that, she would've been right. --electAbuzzzz 16:57, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Other comments

  • I'm not going to vote on this, and I'll explain why: when I first joined Bulbapedia, Maxim was one of the first editors I got to know, because he was a constant top-contributor and his name was all over the 'pedia. However, he was also famous for being extremely rude, obsessive, a control-freak who talks in ALL CAPS and goes on rage-tantrums over simple mistakes and believes he's always right and everybody else is wrong. I'm not exaggerating here - a simple look here can confirm it, and the other old-timers around here are probably nodding in agreement while reading this. So why aren't I opposing? Well, I had to leave for a year due to the army taking it's toll, and when I came back, I haven't seen much of Maxim around - but when I did, he was civil and reasonable. There's a chance this guy changed and matured, but I can't get his old image out of mind. Think about all of this before deciding - but I'm remaining neutral. Update: Never mind, I changed my vote to oppose. --electAbuzzzz 08:12, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Who's Maxim?--Tavisource 20:49, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
  • To be honest, I expected it'll end up like this. I'm not a part of "Bulbapedia friends". Most of authorities here hate me for various reasons. But I don't really understand why normal users use that "because long time ago you did something wrong" excuse. Well, I guess being a Bulbapedia admin is certainly NOT my destiny. Not like I care about this so much. I'm perfectly happy with correcting mistakes and improving the Pedia's quality without any authority. Well, if I were chosen it would probably prevent some power abuses and would probably change the format of administration here. But well, if you don't want me, then it's your thing. I guess I should have been born under a different star... --Maxim 12:17, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
    • I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't know what you did here a long time ago; all I know is that now, you're abrasive and abusive, and not the kind of guy I think should be our admin. --((Marton imos)) 18:03, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
