Release Information
This card was released as a promotional card. The English version of the card was one of four possible Wizards Black Star Promos that one could receive by buying a ticket to the theatrical release of Mewtwo Strikes Back. It has a gold foil stamp in the top right corner that reads "Kids WB Presents Pokémon The First Movie". An unknown amount of this print has the gold foil stamp on the opposite corner. In Japan, it was released as a special card by All Nippon Airways in 1998. Passengers flying in conjunction with the "Pokémon Getaways" campaign could redeem their boarding passes for the 2 card set including Dragonite and Flying Pikachu. In Japan, this card was later reprinted in Pokémon Web.
Trivia
Although this Pokémon is level 47, Dragonair does not evolve into Dragonite until level 55.
Origin
