Trivia
- The footage in this segment is from Ash's battles with Roxanne, Flannery, Winona and Juan. The final shot is of the flame at the Ever Grande Conference.
- Pokémon senryū: かてるまで なんどもちょうせん ポケモンジム Kateru made nando mo chōsen, Pokémon Jimu "Until you win, battle again and again; that is a Pokémon Gym."
- Dawn narrates the next episode preview.
- The dub title is a play off the dish Jambalaya and combining the two words Gym and liar.
- Brock's Croagunk was caught simaliar to the way James's Mime Jr. was. There was no battle, and the Pokémon just wanted to be caught.
Errors
- Later in the episode, Jessie, Princess Powerzone, tells Croagunk to use Poison Sting. Croagunk uses Brick Break.
- When Croagunk used Poison Jab on James, all of its fingers glow, but when used on Brock, only the tips of its fingers glowed, though this could mean that Croagunk simply used a weaker version of the move.
