Contrary (Japanese: あまのじゃく Devil's Advocate) is an Ability introduced in Generation V. Five Pokémon have this Ability, and it is exclusively obtainable through the Dream World.

Effect

Outside of battle

Trivia

For unknown reason, this ability is almost impossible to be fully utilized, as from all Pokemon that can have this ability, only the Snivy line learns a move that makes great use of this ability, which is Leaf Storm (and even then it's just that one move) while both Shuckle and Spinda learns NO move that reduce their own stats, which means this ability is pointless on them (this does not including Superpower which is Spinda's special move in the upcoming Dream World expansion).
