Pokémon the Series: Black & White
The Best Wishes series (Japanese: ポケットモンスターベストウイッシュ Pocket Monsters Best Wishes!) is the fourth series of the Pokémon anime, following after the Diamond & Pearl series, and based on the events of the Generation V games.
As with both the Advanced Generation and Diamond & Pearl series before it, the Best Wishes series begins with only Ash Ketchum, headed off to a new region with his Pikachu. Much like before, his previous female companion, Dawn, has left the series, and Ash will now travel Isshu with a girl by the name of Iris. Unlike the previous three series, however, with the exception of the Orange Archipelago saga, Brock, Ash's longtime companion, is said not to be joining him in his journey in Isshu, instead being replaced by the first Gym Leader of Isshu, Dento.
As before, Ash receives a change of clothes - it is expected that should Brock or Dawn reappear in this series, they will also have different clothes on.
The Best Wishes series will likely begin to be dubbed closer to the English-language release of Pokémon Black and White, and so it is currently unknown how many seasons the series will be divided into for audiences outside of Japan.
Episodes of the Best Wishes series will be numbered with the prefix BW on Bulbapedia. For a complete listing of the series's episodes, see the list of Best Wishes series episodes.
Trivia
