Which games?
Out of curiosity, which games are being covered under Project Sidegames? Just the Ranger and Mystery Dungeon series, or would Colosseum and XD also be covered under this? --Phantomjunkie 01:35, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
It covers all non-main series games (XD and Colosseum are main series games) aside from Battrio, which has its own project. Flyingtypefan 03:07, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Features Stub/Wanted article
Great work so far guys. Could I also get you to post on this talk page (not necessarily in this section, but for now it'll do) when you improve one? That way I can see it and update the featured article more quickly. Thanks, and keep up the great work. Werdnae (talk) 06:52, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Can I join?
I was hoping you all could clue me in. I would love to contribute to Project Sidegames, but I can't dedicate a huge amount of time. Can I become a member? I play the Ranger series, Rumble, and (as soon as it comes out) PokéPark Wii. I have tried to build up the Rumble pages in the past, but there is a little confusion as to template design. If someone would help me with standardizing the availability templates, I'd certainly implement them. (Specifically, the colors on the current template do not match the colors of the levels, which is something I've unsuccessfully advocated for in the past.) Thanks! ʝɑzzmotɦ ❝❞✎ 05:47, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure to join any project, you just add your name to the bottom of the list unless it says otherwise. So, to join, just add your name to the bottom of the participants list. Flyingtypefan 19:52, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Please do add your name to the list, we need more members! Even if you don't have much time, every little bit helps. I can help with your template standardising. Which template in particular? Template:Rumbleloc and it's respective header and footer? Werdnae (talk) 21:12, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, that's the template. Now, maybe I'm just crazy, but I clearly see that the letters of the different stages (C,B,A,S) inside each level are color coded --- just like in SoA, when you are graded on your capture. I think it would be better to have colors that match, but I had a ridiculously hard time trying to convince Sidnoea, and didn't want it to turn into an edit war. Normally, I'm pretty okay at code, but the lack of whitespace in the template confuses the hell out of me. ʝɑzzmotɦ ❝❞✎ 21:40, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- What colours are the ranks in the game? At the moment it has
| style="background: #{{#switch:{{{3|no}}}|yes={{bronze color}}|no=FFFFFF|{{red color}}}};" | '''{{color|{{#switch:{{{3|no}}}|yes=000000|no={{bronze color}}|{{red color}}}}|C}}'''
This bit:style="background: #{{#switch:{{{3|no}}}|yes={{bronze color}}|no=FFFFFF|{{red color}}}};
changes the background colour, and this bit:'''{{color|{{#switch:{{{3|no}}}|yes=000000|no={{bronze color}}|{{red color}}}}|C}}'''
sets the text colour. In other ranks{{bronze color}}
is replaced by{{silver color}}
,{{gold color}}
and{{platinum color}}
, similar to how the route articles have the game colours in the list to show availability. If the ranks aren't coloured bronze, silver, gold and platinum then we should almost certainly change the colours. Werdnae (talk) 22:32, 27 July 2010 (UTC)- The ranks are C-green; B-blue; A-magenta; S-red. (Examples: C rank, B rank, A rank, S rank) I tried to implement it without a template before I knew how to code one, still visible on Bright Beach. I'm also a little confused, because I thought that A was red and S was magenta, but apparently I'm wrong? Also, I think "Grade" is UK English and "Rank" is Am. English, but I'm not sure about that, either. Anyway, if you can fix the template, I can work on fleshing out the pages. Thanks so much! ʝɑzzmotɦ ❝❞✎ 22:56, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Stub/wanted article
Just so you know, i plan on tackling those (or at least the Ranger Mission one) later if no one else has already. But i have a question: why is "Croagunks Swap Shop"under "featured wanted article" if it already exists? Flyingtypefan 02:07, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- Probably got created after it was posted as a wanted article and then nobody switched it out for a new one. --ZestyCactus 02:16, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- I've changed it. Other than Sky Gift, which sat there for over two weeks, the only ones I could find in the wanted pages are Guardian Signs articles. I know most of you won't have that yet, since it hasn't been released in English yet, so if anyone has any better ideas, feel free to suggest them. Werdnae (talk) 04:14, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
I have a suggestion...
I heard someone (i don't rememember who or where, just saying that it wasn't originally my idea) suggest that we have a list of minor characters in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I think that would be a good idea, since right now we have to either keep a bunch of stubs just to state what little there is to say about the character, or delete them and (most of the time) not be able to put the information anywhere. Obviously the Pokemon that contributed to the story would still have articles, but the ones that didn't (e.g. Dugtrio/Diglett, Croagunk, Corphish) would be merged into the list. In addition to listing the characters, it would have a sentence or two about their role in the game. Would this be a good idea? Flyingtypefan 01:27, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think it would be a good idea. We could also then mention characters that aren't notable enough for their own article, such as town elder Torkoal, or Xatu from MD1. Werdnae (talk) 02:56, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
- Are the ones with articles going to be mentioned, if the list was instead a list of non-player characters in Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky? It might put more information, with the ones with article having the
{{main}}
template near the top of their section. Speaking of MD characters, nothing has been shown for their notability requirements. Team Raider especially pops into my mind, considering all that they did in the game was get mentioned a lot, and then save Dugtrio. If they were notable, most likely everybody would be. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 12:03, 27 August 2010 (UTC)- You're right, I don't think we have a proper policy on that, but we probably should develop one. I've discussed it with PsychicRider, co-leader of Project CharacterDex. We came to the conclusion that the page would be a good idea, especially if it gets rid of some of the smaller, barely-one-paragraph pages, but that it should just be a single page for the series. If it gets very long then we can talk about splitting it. It would be at List of Mystery Dungeon characters, and would pretty much need to have a maximum of one paragraph per character (or team). I'll start something in my userspace, once I've done a bit I'll link it and let you edit it as you please. Currently, I do have one thing I'd like discussion on: Gengar. Should he be listed solely as part of Team Meanies or on his own? Werdnae (talk) 03:20, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- And here's a very incomplete version. Please feel free to add to this, including the TDS characters. I didn't have the time to do them yet. Werdnae (talk) 04:17, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
- I could try and get started on a policy, but it probably would incorporate more than just the MD characters. There appears to be some location inconsistency as well. Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 01:26, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help. The page has now been mainspaced. List of Mystery Dungeon characters. Werdnae (talk) 07:46, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Shouldn't there be two sections stating Pokémon found before the credits and Pokémon found after the credits?--Chalkwriter 18:14, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- Wait, what are you talking about? Some sort of list of Pokémon found in Ranger? Turtwig's A-B-Cs (talk | contribs) 18:18, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think they mean in the location articles. In them they are marked with * (if you don't know what that dotted underline means, hover your mouse over the text). I don't think we need to split it into two sections. That would just be a bit over the top for the two or three Pokémon max. on each page. Werdnae (talk) 21:23, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Pokémon Sky Character Moves
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, in Special Episode 1: Bidoof's Wish, there is a part where all of the guild members fight with Bidoof. Should their moves be included on their respective pages?--Chalkwriter 15:43, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

How should I be making the MD4 (WiiWare) dungeon articles? The only available translations of their names are Serebii ones. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 00:31, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Pokemon Yellow?
I'm not very familiar with Generation I games, and I was wondering if Pokemon Yellow is considered a side game because it's a "Special Pikachu Edition" and is sort of like a branch off Pokemon Red and Blue. (Charizard101 21:17, 11 February 2012 (UTC))
- No. Yellow is a main series title. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 21:20, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. (Charizard101 21:57, 11 February 2012 (UTC))

- I wholeheartedly agree. So I've made a template. I'll work on getting it on pages, then I'll make one for MD1. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 18:50, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Is there much more to add anyway?
Because aside from aspects like item lists on the mystery dungeon pages not being there, I can't find a whole lot to really do... --Xatuish 21:58, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- There's still information to add, but we tend to get all the basic details within a few weeks of the English release of the newer games. So at the moment the info that is still to add is the trickier info to obtain. If you're planning on getting PokéPark 2: Beyond the World when it's released in a couple of weeks, there'll be plenty of info to add then. Werdnae (talk) 00:21, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Well thats good. Think i can cover the items in the mystery dungeon games? like, what items you can find in dungeons, kecleon stores, and all that? I might consider Pokepark 2 coverage, but I prefer working on the mystery dungeon games for now. --Xatuish 00:32, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
- Definitely. I think I'll need to make a new template for it, I don't think any of our existing templates would be suitable. In the mean time, feel free to start collecting/collating the info. (Remember, if you didn't get the info from the game yourself but are finding it online, you need to have permission from your source to use their data. To save time, neither Serebii nor PokéBeach will give you permission, so their data can't be used). Werdnae (talk) 01:03, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
Don't worry. I get my data directly from the game. A slow process, yes, but still achievable. --Xatuish 02:08, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
PokéPark 2
No longer a stub. The fact that it states it will come out in Japan Winter 2011 is somewhat outdated. --Abcboy (talk) 05:31, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, that was very old. I took care of it. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 11:57, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
I have a question. When you start the game and press continue and the adventure record appears, what does the the nummbers mean on the badge on the top screen? Also what badge is it? - unsigned comment from Raltseye (talk • contribs)

Pokemon mystery dungeon Explorers of Darkness/Time and sky. - unsigned comment from Raltseye (talk • contribs)
- Looking at it, I'm pretty sure that the badge is the exploration team badge. (The one you use to return home on completion of a mission/rescue the Pokémon you've been asked to). It should change depending on your team rank IIRC. I don't know exactly what the number is for, but it appears to be an ID/serial number, probably for identifying/differentiating between teams with the same name.
