This talk page needs more commentary
So um. Yeah. {{wp}}
is often preferred to using [[wp:]]
. TTEchidna 08:20, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Noted, I'll be using that from now on. Thank you for letting me know.--PhantomJunkie 09:07, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
OK
So does that mean I have to write User:Cool469 or whatever it was and write that again or does it come back. - unsigned comment from Cool469 (talk • contribs)
Please
Could you please protect User:Cool469/Isshu Desert from getting edited if you can do that. Don't worry then if its been deleted. Cool469 07:32, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I don't have the authority to protect pages. You'll have to ask a staff member for that. --PhantomJunkie 07:33, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok thanks.Cool469 07:35, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Well can i atleast edit the Quilava page because someone edit false info there. - unsigned comment from Xhj66 (talk • contribs)
Re: Upcoming Pokémon
First of all, let me apologize for my rudeness. Secondly, you seem to have misunderstood my complaint. I only mentioned Victini because the official site revealed its information hours ago and we still don't have an article for it. I never said anything about articles for other Pokémon; I am perfectly okay with not having articles for them if we don't have sufficient information. But we have at least as much info on Victini now as any of the Pokémon who DO have articles, and it took me all of five minutes to write up an article for it, and this was two hours before my angry rant. However, I can't create the article due to the user page restrictions (and since you guys do such a good job with anything that ISN'T related to Black and White, I can't find anything to edit...) And yet, this article that you claimed people were working on (which took me five minutes to write) has yet to be created.
Also, my rant was primarily directed at a request to update the Isshu Dex page with Mamanbo, Shikijika, and Gigaiasu. My intent was to inform this person, albeit in a rude and misdirected way which I apologize for, that saying "add this information now" was a waste of time, because despite the fact that this information was revealed days ago and would take less than 30 seconds to add, it will still be at least a week (and the sad thing is that I'm not exaggerating) before the page is updated. So if you don't mind, I think I'll ignore your advice ("if you have anything you know of that hasn't yet been added to these articles, you can ask about those things on the respective talk pages") because it's obvious that while the people in charge KNOW this information is out there, they're determined to be the last place on the entire internet to post it despite being the definitive source of information on the subject (this also seems to be the policy on Bulbanews, unfortunately...) I understand the need to gather all the information and present it in a professional manner, but it took me five minutes. Come on. Perhaps my rudeness was uncalled for, but with all due respect, someone's clearly not doing their job.
For example, my first edit was a comment on the same talk page requesting that Wargle be moved back to Wooguru as per Bulbapedia's romanization policy, which was ignored. Also, just today I added Shikijika to the list of Japanese Pokémon names, only to find it was already there. Forgive me, I've gotten accustomed to encyclopedias being, you know... organized. I saw Mamanbo and Gigaiasu at the bottom and figured they was organized by the date they were revealed (I missed Koromori below it). But of course, just like the Isshu Dex page, the list is in no discernible order. Just further evidence of the lack of professionalism that inspired my rant in the first place. This IS supposed to be an encyclopedia, isn't it?
But you know what, I'll humor you. I'll request that both lists be put in alphabetical order as well as posting all of Victini's details and we'll see how long it takes for someone to do something about it.--Bad Wolf 20:04, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
The login problem
First of all, thanks for mentioning that solution you've come up with, but sadly I'm not only using an awkward Korean Vista, but also Google Chrome at the moment, and I'm not entirely sure how to clear my cookies and cache, though I've logged out before. If problems rise again, I'll ask you for detailed instructions, sorry if that's an inconvenience. :P Kaboom, die, you 03:22, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your information. I was actually trying to invent something to improve Bulbapedia Templates. But now I will go back to notepad, because clearly my Bulbapedia sandbox is not place to improve Bulbapedia. Piotr mil 16:37, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Congratulations!
Congratulations! For being the best new user on Bulbapedia you have been awarded the Golden Eevee Award for July, 2010 by the Bulbapedia editorial board!
Please place this template onto your userpage by putting {{User Award|GoldEevee|July, 2010}} among your userboxes. |
Out of all the new users in the past eight months, you've come up trumps. Keep up the effort! —darklordtrom 00:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
{{Pokémon}}
Just thought I'd let you know, the gen
field of the template does not refer to the generation that the Pokémon in question came from, but the generation of the game it's in. For example, if you were to put gen=1
in on a Pokémon from a Gen II game, its hold item wouldn't be displayed, as there were none in Gen I. Similarly, gen=2
on a Gen IV game wouldn't display whether or not the Pokémon's moves are Physical or Special.
Hope I helped! :)--Cold (talk) 15:50, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, this was my first time doing such extensive coding xD; I'm pretty wiki-illiterate, to be honest, so I mostly stick to editing what's already been put in rather than writing code myself. I was copying the table from the first Mt. Battle page, and it just so happened that the first Pokémon in the first party template was from Gen III, so I got confused. Thanks for fixing things, and I'll keep it in mind in the future! Phantom♫Junkie 15:58, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello Phantom!
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly on the Question that I asked on Werdnae's talk page! I have a further few questions if you don't mind. This might sound a little bit stupid, but how do I create a new page? Most (okay, all) of the editing I have done so far has been on pages that already exist, so I have never made one before. Second, I understand that creating the Sandbox itself will count as one of my three edits per day, but what about after that, when I am playing around with stuff on the sandbox? Will that still count as one of my three daily edits? Finally, what I would like to do with my usertags is create something to the effect that Kenji-girl did on her page, where I can edit them all at once, but still hide them. How do I do that? The way I have it on my page right now, I can only edit one section at a time. Thank you so much in advance for all of the help. --JediKnightDTV 19:25, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- Never mind, I think that I figured it out and answered my own questions (looks sheepish and embarrassed) I did it by following the big HELP link on the left hand side of the screen. Thank you anyway for being such a big help! --JediKnightDTV 19:49, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- BTW, thanks for the advice on editing the whole page rather than deleting one section at a time. I can't believe I didn't think of that. Just one more instance of me being airheaded I guess, which earned me a comment on my talkpage from PsychicRider. I wanted to ask you, would you mind if I borrowed the, uh, I don't know what to call it, so I am going to go with "thingie", at the top of your talkpage, that tells how full it is, and when it needs to be archived? Obviously, I want to play with it and change it so that I can put one similar to it on my talkpage. I thought I would ask you before I just straight up stole it. Thanks again.--JediKnightDTV 00:43, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sure thing on the HP bar ^^ I have the coding for it at User:Phantomjunkie/TalkpageHP. I got it from Jello, and she got it from TTEchidna, but according to her it's been passed around so much hardly anyone knows who originally coded it. I'd suggest leaving most of the coding alone, and just changing the colors, fonts, and the Pokémon you want on it. If you want me to, I'll even bold the color codes so you know where they are at. Phantom♫Junkie 03:44, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Please and thank you. Any help I could get would be appreciated. I'll end up futzing with it to my heart's content, but anything that will make understanding the coding on that easier would be a good thing, as I am still learning (slowly but surely) and it looked complicated. Thanks again for all of your help. --JediKnightDTV 06:11, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, so I couldn't bold the code directly without messing up the code, so I copied and pasted it below my box on User:Phantomjunkie/TalkpageHP. Everything surrounded by three apostrophes is a color, and the part surrounded by two apostrophes is where you enter what font you want to use at the top for your title (like mine is "Talk Page Health" in Blackadder ITC). Let me know once you've grabbed the code, so I can remove it. Phantom♫Junkie 06:25, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry it took me so long to get back. Quick question, where should I copy and past it to? My sandbox or my talkpage? And I know that copying and pasting it will count as one of my three edits, so should I not do that until I contribute more to the mainspace? I don't want one of the admins getting upset with me because I am "excessively" editing my userspace. What do you think? Let me know. Thanks again, Phantom. You have been really helpful, and I really appreciate it. I consider you my very first friend here on Bulbapedia. --JediKnightDTV 21:56, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
- I really appreciate that! I love helping people around Bulbapedia, especially the newer users, since I'm still pretty new myself. I'd recommend pasting it into your sandbox, rather than your talk page; but remember, you can use the preview button as much as you want to look at it before you save, so that you won't have as many edits actually showing up on the Recent Changes page. That's what I did when I designed my HP bar. Also, if you are confused about which colors correspond to which parts of the box, I recommend changing each color to #000000 one at a time, and seeing which parts of the box turn white. That was what I did when I was choosing my color scheme. Phantom♫Junkie 01:09, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- No offense guys, just because I stole the base coding from TTE, doesn't mean you can go ahead and copy it from my page. I actually modified mines a bit to fit my own tastes, and it does differ originally from TTE's. I would suggest going to TTE's userpage and copying from there instead. —♥ Jellotalk 01:23, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- And I would suggest not changing things to #000000 and expecting things to turn white; #000000 actually turns things black. #ffffff is white :D —darklordtrom 01:26, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Good point xD; I was distracted by football as I was typing that, in my defense. And sorry, Jello, I'll be doing that from now on if someone else asks about it. Phantom♫Junkie 01:51, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hey Quick Question, how do I get the Duskull off of the thing? I am looking, but I must just not be seeing it. Thanks again.--JediKnightDTV 04:51, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

(resetting indent) Look for the number 355 in the line that starts with the word "rowspan." That's the National Pokédex number of the Pokémon that will appear. You can also change the information right before it if you want to change what type of sprite it is. For example, I just changed mine from the animated menu sprite (Ani MS) to one of the 4th gen sprites (Spr 4p). The first part (ani or spr) will determine whether it is moving or not, and the second (MS or 4p) will determine where the image comes from. In the case of mine, which is 4p, it's the 4th gen front sprite from Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. You can look for any sprite you want to use in the Archives. Hey Phantom!
Hey howareya, Phantom? Thought I would drop in, say hi, and ask a few questions. I know, I know, it seems like all I ever do is ask you questions, but since you have been so helpful, and since we are friends and all now, I thought I would pick your brain. I only really have two questions: 1)You know the boxes that some people have on their userpages that are similar to a trainer-card from the games, only they have their current Party and their moves too? I am thinking like Kenji-girl has on her page. She has one for her SoulSilver, Platinum, and Pearl carts. I am going to call them a "trainer-box". How do I do that/Where would I get the code from? Do I just ask someone that has one on their page? I would ask KG, but she is a senior administrator, and she seems busy, and I know she has better things to do than hold my hand while I am trying to figure out the code. 2) Also, I have seen some people with a box similar to the one that Ash has on his page or that KCorp4000 has on his page, which is like a Character Info Box, or "CharInfoBox" as Ash's page calls it, for short. How do I do that/Where would I get the code from? Should I just lift the code from Ash's page? If so, is there someone I should ask for permission first (like KG, since she is a Senior Admin and Leader of Project Anime)? Or should I just go and ask KCorp4000 how he did his, and if I could borrow it, if I promise to customize it/credit him? As usual, that was a lot more than 2 questions. They just seem to multiply like Lopunny, the darn things. As always, thanks in advance for all of your help/advice. --JediKnightDTV 02:18, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- No problem! The party template Kenji-girl has is a custom template, so you would have to ask her if you want to use her code; otherwise you can just use the generic party template like what I have on my userpage. As for the CharInfobox you mentioned, that's exactly what the template is, and you can find that here. To use those you will type in
{{party}}
and{{CharInfobox}}
respectively, and you can fill in the information the same way that it's filled in on just about any page where that template has been used. Some templates will even have a model of how they are to be used on their talk pages, but I know the character infobox doesn't have that. I hope that helped! Phantom♫Junkie 02:28, 14 September 2010 (UTC)- It does, thank you. I took a look at the talk page for both of them, and also for Pokémon, and I grabbed the raw code and dumped it on my sandbox, but I am thinking that I do not need it. Am I right? At least for the Party and Pokémon Templates, I am thinking, because I can just edit them like they said on their talk pages. But what about for the CharInfoBox, that I am thinking I need the raw code for. Am I on the right track? I am going to go play in my sandbox. Thanks again. --JediKnightDTV 03:45, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- You should just be able to use those templates on your userpage just like normal. Just make sure that the templates don't create redlinks that will end up on the wanted pages, as some of them have automatic links. For the Character infobox, links to fanon badges and gyms (among other things) can be removed by using
{{CharInfoboxUser}}
instead of{{CharInfobox}}
, while Pokémon nicknames can be added to that template through use of the nickname parameter. Werdnae (talk) 05:52, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey Howdy Hey!
Hi Phantom howzitgoin? Its me again. I know you are probably asleep right now, but I thought I would pop on over and bug you again. I am having some troubles with formatting my userpage correctly. I finally was able to add the CharInfoBox template to the page that I wanted to, and I thought it came out pretty good, at least for a first try. However, when I tried to add it to the page along with my Infobox template (where I put all of my Usertags), it ended up messing up the formatting on the page and looking butt-ugly. Is there any way I can fix this? I finally decided to just lose the Infobox (temporarily), but I really want to put it back on there, just underneath my CharInfoBox. Is there any way to make it do that? Or combine it with the CharInfoBox maybe? What I mean by that is like what Jello did with hers? Should I just ask her? She seems kinda cranky, especially when it comes to people "borrowing" her stuff. Anyway, thank you so much again for all of your help in advance. --JediKnightDTV 07:12, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
