 The Lebanese dub, on the other hand, received heavy criticism from fans, despite retaining the story's integrity and proper pronunciation. The criticism was pointed towards the casting choices, as the majority of fans felt most of the new actors didn't fit the roles that they were given and didn't capture the essence of the characters as well as the previous cast. It's most likely that this negative reception to the new dub combined with the fact that most of the [[List of original series episodes#Johto League arc|newer episodes airing]] being [[filler episodes]] (and the overall controversy related to the franchise) factored in the series' drastic drop in popularity.
