Visquez (Japanese: ビスケス Visquez) is the Vermilion City Gym Leader in the absence of Lt. Surge. She gives the Thunder Badge to Trainers who defeat her. She specializes in Electric-type Pokémon.
In the anime
In the anime, Visquez is a character of the day who appeared in Destination: Coronation!.
She first battled a Trainer and his Hypno with her Raichu, eventually emerging victorious. While cleaning up the mess left by the battle, she received word that a challenger was coming to battle her for the World Coronation Series, who turned out to be Ash. Visquez remembered Ash from his battle against Lt. Surge, and they had a two-on-two battle, with Visquez using her Raichu and Electrode against Ash's Pikachu and Gengar. The battle ended in Visquez's loss, causing her rank to go down.
