In PASS32, while riding a train to the Crown Tundra, Bede, Marnie, and Hop encountered Peonia, a girl trying to escape from her overbearing father, Peony. They agreed, but upon noticing Peony's resemblance to Rose, Bede's dedication to the chairman led him to exposing Peonia. Later, at the station, Marnie challenged Peony to a battle, stating that if she won, Peonia would be allowed to go free. After Marnie won and Peonia left, Bede and the others agreed to take her place as part of the Peony Exploration Team. The four traveled to Freezington, where their home base was located.

In PASS36, Bede, Marnie, and Hop arrived at Dyna Tree Hill, where they found a Galarian Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Detecting traces of the rusted items in the area, Bede and the others split up to determine which of the Legendary bird Pokémon knew where it was located. Hop and Marnie went after Moltres and Zapdos respectively, leaving Bede with Articuno.

Detecting traces of the rusted items in the area, Bede and the others split up to determine which of the Legendary bird Pokémon knew where it was located. Hop and Marnie went after Moltres and Zapdos respectively, leaving Bede with Articuno. In PASS37, after an encounter with Moltres, Henry was taken to the Crown Tundra, where he reunited with Bede. Henry was introduced to Peony, only for the man to immediately take a disliking towards the boy. When Peonia returned to participate in the adven-tour, a delighted Peony also agreed to let Henry join as well. That night, Peonia found her father floating in midair. Bede explained that it was the work of Calyrex, the King of Bountiful Harvests, in order for it to communicate with humans. The three agreed to help restore Calyrex to its former glory in exchange for it locating the Rusted Sword.

In PASS39, Bede's group tried reuniting Calyrex with is former loyal steed, Spectrier. With the Black Mane Hair collected from Spectrier and the Radiant Petal Calyrex made, Henry forged the Reins of Unity. The group lured Spectrier to the Crown Shrine, but they were interrupted by a Gigantamaxed Corviknight and Butterfree. Realizing the Darkest Day had restarted, Bede, Henry, Peony, and Peonia fought off the rampaging giants. With the reins, Calyrex reforged its bond with Spectrier and changed into its List of Pokémon with form differences form, allowing it to find and retrieve the Rusted Sword.
