Unlike previous Legendary groups, the titans share very similar names, and their types are further estranged from the original {{t|Fire}}, {{t|Ice}}, and {{t|Electric}} that the [[Legendary birds|birds]] take on (two of the [[Legendary beasts|beasts]] share types with the birds, and {{p|Regice|two of}} {{p|Regieleki|the titans}} do as well). Like them, however, the Legendary titans have a [[Trio master|master]] (and like the beasts, a creator) in {{p|Regigigas}}.

Each has seven dots for eyes, arranged in a different pattern, similar to the [[braille]] that is connected to their legend. Unlike the birds and beasts, the titans do not have {{a|Pressure}} as their Ability, though the original three titans do share the Ability {{a|Clear Body}}.

In the {{pkmn|anime}} and outside ''[[M08|Lucario and the Mystery of Mew]]'', they appeared to be somewhat less important than the previous two trios, even being trained, in {{i|Poké Ball}}s, no less, by [[Brandon]], while the [[Legendary birds]] are said to cause a cataclysm if even one is captured (as happened in [[M02|the second movie]], though through a different method) and the beasts are unable to be captured by conventional means.

==History==
The Legendary titans have relatively concrete lore compared to other Legendary Pokémon. Long ago, Regigigas is said to have pulled the continents into place, and then created the titans from an icy mountain, rocks, magma, pure electric energy, and crystallized dragon energy in its image. Regigigas was apparently worshiped at one time, alongside the Hoenn titans, by ancient people. Due to it being so powerful, Regigigas was sealed away in the basement of the [[Snowpoint Temple]], while the ones it created were spirited to the far-off [[Hoenn]] region and locked away in three stone structures, which were then sealed themselves. A message was left in braille to whomever would come to discover the [[Sealed Chamber]], whose only access was via an [[underwater]] cavern, in the hopes that one day the Pokémon could be {{pkmn2|Caught|tamed}}. {{p|Regieleki}} and {{p|Regidrago}} were sealed in the [[Split-Decision Ruins]] located in the [[Crown Tundra]] due to fearing the destruction and terror they have caused the ancient people.

In the Hoenn [[Generation III]] games and the remakes, the player must first unlock the tombs which hold the three titans by solving the puzzle in the [[Sealed Chamber]]. Only after doing this will they then be obtainable. Regirock is found in the [[Desert Ruins]] on {{rt|111|Hoenn}}. To encounter Regirock, the player must walk two steps to the right, two steps down and then use {{m|Strength}}{{sup/3|RuSa}}{{sup/6|ORAS}} or walk two steps to the left, then two steps down and use {{m|Rock Smash}}{{sup/3|E}}. Regice is found in the [[Island Cave]] on {{rt|105|Hoenn}}, and to encounter it, the player must wait two minutes in front of the sign{{sup/3|RuSa}}{{sup/6|ORAS}} or walk a counterclockwise lap around the walls of the cave{{sup/3|E}}. Registeel is found in the [[Ancient Tomb]] on {{rt|120|Hoenn}}, and it is necessary to go to the middle of the room and use {{m|Fly}}{{sup/3|RuSa}}{{sup/6|ORAS}} or {{m|Flash}}{{sup/3|E}} to open its cave.

The Rock Peak Key for Regirock is obtained automatically after the player enters the Hall of Fame; after catching Regirock, the player will obtain either the Iron Key for Registeel{{sup/5|B2}} or the Iceberg Key for Regice{{sup/5|W2}}. To catch all three titans in one game, the corresponding version-exclusive key must be transferred through the [[Unova Link]], so that one game has all three keys.

Any of the three Legendary titans may be found in the [[Ultra Space Wilds]] by following a yellow [[Ultra Wormhole]] to the Cave World during the [[Ultra Warp Ride]] minigame.

===Pokémon Sword and Shield===
All three of the original Legendary titans are obtainable in Ruins dotted about the [[Crown Tundra]], with the player having to fill out clues. However, there is one special Ruin where the two other Legendary titans, {{p|Regieleki}} and {{p|Regidrago}}, can be found. Once the player collects the original three and filled out the clues corresponding to the three, they may obtain their choice of either. In order to be able to catch the titans, the pattern on the floor in the ruins must be lit up, and the player interacts with the statues. In the case for Regieleki and Regidrago, the pattern is a combination of both, and the player is to mark the pattern of the titan of their choice. Once the titan is encountered, the tiles that were not part of the Pokémon's pattern are permanently dimmed, even if the player ran away from or defeated the titan.

They each followed {{Ash}}, {{an|Brock}}, {{an|May}}, [[Max]], [[Kidd Summers|Kidd]], [[Jessie]], and [[James]] throughout the tunnel network beneath the Tree of Beginning. Once the intruders had all been consumed by the Tree, the Legendary titans retreated.

The player's team must have the right [[Throwing item#Unown Stones|Unown stones]] that spell out each typing of the Pokémon (specifically, ICE, ROCK, and STEEL) in order to enter each titan's chamber. If the party does not have these stones, they must enter that titan's cave in order to collect more Unown stones. After beating all three Pokémon, the party immediately heads to Regigigas' Chamber to battle it.

The legendary titans each appear as bosses in [[Colossal Forest]]. Regirock is the boss of Stage 1, Regice is the boss of Stage 2, and Registeel is the boss of Stage 3. Their trio master, Regigigas, is the boss of the subsequent stage, Stage 4.

* In {{g|Colosseum}}, the event needed to unlock the Legendary titans is referenced in Battle Mode's Single Battle Mount Battle. The 90th Trainer, {{tc|Area Leader}} Axley, has a party consisting of Regirock, Regice, Registeel, {{p|Flygon}}, {{p|Relicanth}}, and {{p|Wailord}}. Flygon is likely included because it can learn {{m|Dig}}, which is required to unseal the titans.
