(Japanese: ワシボン Washibon) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves into Braviary starting at level 54.
Biology
Physiology
Rufflet is an avian Pokémon that resembles an eagle chick. Its head has a thick covering of fuzzy white down and a grayish-blue face. A single red and white plume, which resembles an honor feather, extends from its forehead. Rufflet's body and wings are the same shade of blue as its face, and both seem rather miniature compared to the size of its head. It has large yellow feet tipped with black talons, and its beak is also yellow. Rufflet's tail is squared-off at the tip, and its coloration matches its downy head.
Gender differences
Rufflet is a male-only species. Its female counterpart is Baruchai; however, Baruchai cannot produce Rufflet eggs.
Special abilities
Washibon becomes stronger by battling over and over.
Behavior
Washibon will indiscriminately challenge foes to battle, even strong ones.

Trivia
- Despite being the "Baby Eagle Pokémon", it is not a baby Pokémon.
Origin
Washibon is based on an eagle chick. The single plume on its head resembles an honor feather, such as those worn by Plains Indians. This, in combination with its evolution's war bonnet-like crest, suggests inspiration from Native American warriors.
Name origin
Washibon may come from 鷲 washi, meaning eagle.
