OriginThis Pokémon is based on the water strider. Name originSurskit's name comes from a combination of surf and skit. Ametama is probably a combination of 雨 ame, rain, and 玉 tama, sphere, although the latter could also be 魂 tama, spirit. The Japanese name could also include アメンボ amenbo, pond skater.
