I don't see the point of this template. You can easily achieve the same effect by typing [[wp:Link|]] (take note of the trailing bar), which is automatically transformed into [[wp:Link|Link]] by the software. - You would, before, have to type in, where pagename is the name of the page you are linking to, [[wp:pagename|pagename]], which could get tedious with long article names, but now, you only have to type {{wp:pagename}}, which is much shorter.- unsigned comment from Shiny Noctowl (talk • contribs)
HTTPS
The template should be updated to redirect to the https:// version of the Wikipedia articles. All Wikimedia Foundation wikis have supported HTTPS natively since 2011 (and no, it's not HTTPS by using the secure.wikimedia.org server, which is officially deprecated and kept for compatibility with sites that link to it—this is real native HTTPS support we're talking about here).
