Gilbert Oak

Shouldn't this be "Gilbert Oak" as he's Professor Oak's nephew? --DarthNightmaricus (talk) 07:06, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Nowhere in the article does it mention he is Professor Oak's nephew, so if this is the case it should be added. However, even if he is, he wouldn't necessarily have the same surname (e.g. if he was the son of Professor Oak's sister). --SnorlaxMonster 08:22, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Facts from Shudo's novelizations are of questionable canonicity (they are like the "beta version" of the anime). Also, the mayor could change, we never know. --Maxim (talk) 12:24, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Gilbert being the mayor's son is a dub-only thing anyway, so to make him related to Professor Oak, we would have to cross the two (in this case very different) canons. --Janey4319 (talk) 16:47, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
