Durians?

I think this berry is based on the Durian, as most of the berries seem to be based on real fruit and this one is a match. I didn't want to add it without someone else agreeing, though...

That seems sensical. Of course, I'd never even heard of durians until I played Super Mario Sunshine...--Shiningpikablu252 18:33, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
If you want to i'd back you up on that.Looking at a pic of a Durin next to the Durian they are practically identical.I don't think it's much of a leap to say that's what the berry was based off of.Ai Hikari 21:07, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Burmy

This berry has a strong resemblance to Burmy (plant cloak).AlienX2008 07:42, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Japanese name?

At the top of the article, it gives the pronunciation of the Japanese name as "Dori", but in the sidebar and bottom of the article, it says "Duri". The Hiragana in all 3 places says "dori". (Also, Google Translate translates "durian berry" to Japanese as "dorian".) Chupi 04:31, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

We generally interpret the katakana to match the English name when it's obviously derived from the English name. If "ドリアン" (dorian) is "durian", then "ドリ" (dori) is "Duri", et cetera.—Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 06:06, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Growth and harvest

"A Durin Berry will mature from a planted seed to a full-grown, fruit-bearing tree in 60 hours, with 15 hours per stage. A Durin tree will yield 3-15 berries."

I just got 2 Durin berries a tree instead of 3. I think I didn't neglect it really much because I gave him water the first time at least. It's stages are 15 hours so it's strange that I didn't give him water in any other stage. :S How to get 15 berries? Just water it 4 times, or do I have to give water twice every stage? Doesn't anyone have information about the moisture rating deduction value of this berry and other berries? Is it harder to get this information out of the game then to get other kinds of information like formulas and values out of the game? It would be nice if there was a program which told you when to water your berries, but without this deduction value that program will never exist. Otherwise I might make one. :P

Obtainable in Sapphire if...

Hello. Is it possible to get the durin berry by using the "cool latios" saying if you saw the pokémon by visiting southern island, by use of the eon ticket event?

Yes. You just need to get the word. Glik (talk) 15:31, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Question about Gen IV yield

Earlier, I changed the listed yield of the Durin plant in Gen IV from 3-15 to 2-15. I assumed this was a typo, because the three counterpart Berries I had examined previously, the Spelon, Watmel, and Belue Berries, also had a yield of 2-15, and Durin has a yield of 2-15 in BDSP. However, the Pamtre Berry, the last of this family of Berries I looked at, also had its Gen IV yield listed as 3-15. So either the same typo was made twice, or the Pamtre and Durin Berries were both given different yields from their counterparts. If the latter, it wouldn't be the only case of the dry and bitter Berries in each set being treated differently, since the Bluk and Wepear Berries were not given effects in GO, Let's Go, and Legends: Arceus while their counterparts in the Razz, Nanab, and Pinap Berries were. So both possibilities seem similarly likely to me. Red Knight (talk) 17:15, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
