 The first thing you'll want to do when you get to Violet City  is take on [[Falkner]] at this city's gym. There are two trainers there that you must battle before taking on Falkner. If you have trouble beating them I suggest you train a bit more and then challenge the gym. The table below shows Falkner's team.

 After defeating Falkner you receive the  {{Badge|Zephyr}} well as [[TM31]] {{m|Mud Slap}}! After you leave the gym Professor Elm will give you a call  concerning the mysterious egg. His assistant is in the Violet City [[Pokémon Center]] and wants you to take the egg. You will need space in your party in order to take it so make sure there is room and then take it.  After keeping it in your party for awhile it will hatch so be sure to always carry it with you.
