Donphan (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

*Considering real-world elephants’ extensive use of their trunks as a powerful extra limb and considering elephant’s great inherent strength in the first place, Donphan was speculated to be a new {{type2|Fighting}} Pokémon prior to its release as a {{type2|Ground}} in the [[Generation II]] games. Note that an elephantine mini-boss, Phan Phan (which appears similar to Phanpy), from the {{wp|Kirby (series)|Kirby video game series}} fights using his trunk to grapple and throw the pink hero across the screen. When inhaled, Phan Phan allows the pink hero to transform into “Throw Kirby”, which relies on a range of physical attacks, or even “Suplex Kirby” which offers a greater range of martial arts capabilities than “Throw Kirby”.

*Donphan shares the same [[species]] name with {{p|Tyranitar}}. They are both known as Armor Pokémon.
