Archaludon (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Archaludon appears to draw inspiration from {{wp|cable-stayed bridge}}s and {{wp|folding bridge}}s. Its legs resemble the Iberian {{wp|Guadiana International Bridge}}, while the X patterns might be a reference to the Portuguese {{wp|25 de Abril Bridge}}. Its theming of a literal dragon bridge, as well as its coloration could take inspiration from the Puente del Dragón, a popular {{wp|Seville|Sevillian}} monument from {{wp|Alcalá de Guadaíra}}, being also that Archaludon's back when standing on two legs loosely resembles the snake-like mouth of the dragon sculpture. The bent body resembles a staple remover. Additionally, its ability to {{m|Electro Shot|charge and fire blasts of electricity}} may be inspired by {{wp|railguns}}. It may be a play on words of {{wp|Archosaur}} (a clade of animals that includes non-avian dinosaurs, pterosaurs, crocodilians, and birds), taking the "arch" ({{wp|arch bridge|a type of bridge}}) in its name literally. It might also pull from the fact that Unova, where Blueberry Academy is located, stands out for its number of bridges.
