:::I managed to test this myself with a Japanese 3DS and a Japanese copy of VC Crystal, while Poke Transporter and Pokemon Bank were both set to Japanese. To my great surprise, the profanity filter is indeed skipped (tried something in both hiragana and katakana, and tried both nickname and OT).
