This card was released in {{TCG|POP Series 9}}, originating as one of the Japanese {{TCG|DP-P Promotional cards}}. A special variant with a "Pokémon DAY 2009" stamp was released in several European countries as part of various Summer tour events ({{OBP|Pokémon Day|disambiguation}}) taking place between July and October 2009. In Japan, this card was released as part of the Collection Challenge, a campaign that saw the release of several promotional cards through events during the Summer of 2008. This card was awarded to those who completed the {{game|Platinum}} Quiz Rally, held at participating store chains and Pokémon Centers between August 9 and 24, 2008. It was subsequently reprinted in the {{TCG|Collection Packs|Shaymin LV.X Collection Pack}} released in April 2009.
