It features Pokémon from the live-action Pokémon movie [[Detective Pikachu (movie)|of the same name]].

'''Detective Pikachu''' is a special 18 card subset that was made available in English on March 29, 2019. The set was released in anticipation of the live-action Pokémon movie, {{mov|Detective Pikachu}}. It features 3D art by the visual effects studios that worked on the film, the {{wp|Moving Picture Company}} and {{wp|Framestore}}. Similar to the {{TCG|Generations}} and {{TCG|Shining Legends}} expansions, Detective Pikachu booster packs could not be purchased separately and instead, were available exclusively in various set-related products. Each booster pack contains four cards, and all of the cards included within the English release are Holofoil.

The Japanese equivalent set '''Movie Special Pack Great Detective Pikachu''' is a 25 card sub-set that was released on April 26, 2019. Each booster pack contains 3 Common cards and an Uncommon card or above. Each booster box contains 20 packs and guarantees to form a complete set<ref>[https://www.pokemon-card.com/ex/smp2/ Buy a box to collect all cards, including the precious SR card!]</ref>. All Common and Uncommon cards included within the Japanese release are Mirror Holofoil.  

The Korean set is based on the Japanese set, and was also released on April 26, 2019. However, the Korean set does not include {{TCG ID|Great Detective Pikachu|Lt. Yoshida|25}}, and all Common and Uncommon cards come in both Non-holofoil and Mirror Holofoil versions, forming a master set of 45 cards. Each booster pack contains 5 cards: 3 Non-holofoil Common cards, a Non-holofoil Uncommon card and either a Mirror Holofoil card or a {{GX}} card. Each booster box contains 20 packs.
