Despite the type disadvantage, Arcanine easily defeated {{AP|Kingler}} by dodging its {{m|Bubble}} attack and using {{m|Dragon Rage}}. {{AP|Pikachu}} then managed to defeat the Arcanine with {{m|Thunderbolt}} after its {{m|Fire Blast}} melted the Ice Field.

In ''[[EP190|The Stolen Stones]]'', [[Keegan]] owned an Arcanine, while [[Ramona]] owned two others. Keegan's Arcanine was [[nickname]]d Arcky. The {{type|Fire}} Pokémon were used to deliver some [[Fire Stone]]s that were meant to be used as prizes for a local Fire Pokémon tournament. Keegan and Ramona later used their Arcanine to save Ash, {{an|Misty}}, and {{an|Brock}} from falling off a cliff.
