+Fireworks go off as {{Ash}}, [[Professor Kukui]], {{an|Kiawe}}, and [[Mimo]] arrive at a concert. They are soon joined by {{an|Mallow}}, {{TP|Mallow|Steenee}}, {{an|Sophocles}}, and {{TP|Sophocles|Togedemaru}}. Surprised with their hair, they explain that everyone wears a wig to a "Dug-Leo" concert. Looking at a concert poster, Mallow introduces them as [[DJ Leo]] and his {{p|Dugtrio}}— or Dug-Leo for short. {{Rotom}} provides data on {{alo|Dugtrio}} and {{alo|Diglett}} as Mallow introduces him to Dugtrio by their individual names. After a discussion about wearing wigs, everyone is wearing one. Nearby, an Alolan Diglett pops up out of the ground nearby and looks at Rotom's wig in admiration. {{TRT}} are selling a variety of wigs but aren't attracting any customers.

Mimo is excited as this is her first time attending a concert, so Kiawe tells her not to wander off. {{an|Mallow}}, {{TP|Mallow|Steenee}}, {{an|Sophocles}}, and {{TP|Sophocles|Togedemaru}} also arrived at the beach. Ash is surprised with their hair and they explain that everyone wears a wig to a "Dug-Leo" concert. Ash looks at a concert poster as Mallow introduces them as [[DJ Leo]] and his {{p|Dugtrio}}— or Dug-Leo for short. Ash asks if the Dugtrio are wearing wigs but {{Rotom}} explains that this is an {{alo|Dugtrio}} and provides its data. It also provides data on {{alo|Diglett}} and Mallow introduces him to Dugtrio by their individual names—Jessica, Ashley, and Michael. Mimo realizes that the concertgoers are dressing up to look like their favorite Dugtrio. Professor Kukui also wears a wig, surprising Ash. Sophocles asks Ash, Kiawe and Mimo about wearing a wig which Ash and Mimo agree to but Kiawe isn't keen. His classmates try to persuade him but he gives in to Mimo when she says she will not wear a wig if he doesn't. After they wear the wigs, Mallow asks Rotom what wig he is wearing and Rotom explains that it is based on [[Laki]]. Sophocles disagrees about his choice when an Alolan Diglett pops up out of the ground nearby and looks at Rotom's wig in admiration.

[[Jessie]] is not pleased with his attempts at being generous, and Meowth says that blond wigs are the only wigs that will sell. Jessie is not happy to hear this and Meowth reminds her that she said they needed a variety to be inclusive. A large crowd has gathered as DJ Leo starts the concert. He plays the music to which everyone cheers and dances. The Alolan Dugtrio appears from the ground. The Alolan Diglett pops up near Ash and the others. As the concert goes on, Team Rocket watches from a distance. Jessie thinks that the Dugtrio can be a big asset to them and they run off. After the concert, Ash and his friends head home. Mimo decides she is going to be a DJ when she grows up. When Ash asks Kiawe if he liked it, he is surprised to find Kiawe full of tears, having been moved by the way they celebrated the natural way of Alola and declares his wig as his treasure second to his [[Z-Ring]]. Rotom tells Kiawe to calm down, only to be hit by the Alolan Diglett who takes Rotom's wig and runs off. Ash and the others give chase. Ash sends {{AP|Rockruff}} after it and Rockruff manages to catch up to the Diglett. Rotom takes its wig back, revealing the Alolan Diglett as the culprit. When Ash wonders why it would want Rotom's wig, it goes underground and disappears. DJ Leo comes over and tells them that the place is off limits to them. Professor Kukui apologizes for this as DJ Leo recognizes him and removes his glasses.

-At DJ Leo's house, DJ Leo invites them in and says that any friends of Kukui are friends of his. As they sat down, Rotom examines Leo's sound equipment. Ash asks Leo if he and Professor Kukui used to be schoolmates which Leo confirms. Professor Kukui says Leo does not look like he used to and had no idea it was him on stage. Leo explains that Dugtrio changed his whole life and that he was trying to make songs of gratitude to Alola but was strayed from his path to success. He remembers being lost in life until he heard Dugtrio singing in the mountains. They soon became friends and began making music together. Mimo spots the Alolan Diglett popping up from the sand. Upon seeing Dugtrio, Diglett rushes over to Dugtrio who keeps moving backward as Diglett approaches it. After the Dugtrio becomes backed into a corner, Diglett begins to sing. Dugtrio likes Diglett's singing which Leo exclaims that he does too. He explains that Dugtrio has agreed to be Diglett's mentor. Rotom began adding a voice-sampling function to its system. Kukui removes Rotom's wig and put it on Diglett's head. Diglett is happy with his new wig. After a while, Ash and the others left Leo's house. Team Rocket is hiding in the bushes and runs behind the house. As Leo starts to practice his music, Michael sings too loud and the trio started fighting. He tells them to stop fighting which the Dugtrio ignored. Team Rocket enters the house, disguising as the staff of a talent agency. They exclaim that they wanted to be the representatives for Dugtrio, which Dugtrio agrees to. Leo is shocked at its decision. As Team Rocket leave Leo's house, he gives chase but falls down.

 The next day, Ash and Kukui watch the news about DJ Leo and Dugtrio's disbandment, and wonders why it changed overnight. They arrive at Leo's house and find out that Dugtrio left with the people from the agency. Ash suggests finding them and Rotom wonders how. Ash gives Rockruff a piece of Dugtrio's clothing and asks it to track them down. They arrive in the mountains and notice a hut nearby. In the hut, the Dugtrio are tied to a rope and Meowth practices rapping. Ash and the others enter the hut and battles Team Rocket. As they battle, Team Rocket realizes that Diglett has untied the ropes from Dugtrio. {{TP|Jessie|Mimikyu}} and {{TP|James|Mareanie}} attack Dugtrio instead but is wrapped by its {{a|Tangling Hair}} [[Ability]]. It later used {{m|Tri Attack}} to send Team Rocket to the roof. As they are about to blast off, {{an|Bewear}} caught them and runs off. Leo and Dugtrio thank Ash and Diglett. Leo invites Dugtrio back to the band which they agree.
