After seeing the stadium infested with plants, {{Ash}} and [[Alain]] leave the stadium, with Alain asking Ash where [[Mairin]] was. Ash tells him that she didn't want to get in his way, so she asked Ash not to tell him. He then asks Alain if Mairin is important to him; Alain confirms it, and Ash offers to help look for her. Once they exit the stadium, they meet up with {{an|Bonnie}}, {{an|Clemont}}, and {{an|Serena}}, with Bonnie telling Ash that [[Squishy]] wondered off. The group hears a televised announcement to the citizens of Lumiose City, warning them stay away from Prism Tower. Then, they see the glowing {{p|Zygarde}}, and Alain realizes that Zygarde was behind the plant infestation. Squishy is heading to [[Prism Tower]] while running it tried to get through to its other cells then transform into its 10% Forme to get their faster then Bonnie senses where Squishy going and runs off to catch up to it. Ash tells Clemont and Serena to go with her and tells them that he going with Alain to find Mairin. Before Ash went off Clemont gives Ash a commutator to keep in touch with him and Serena also Serena tells Ash to be careful which he tells her he will and goes with Alain. As the roots keep growing Sawyer, Shauna, Tierno and Trevor call out their ace Pokémon to help get everyone to safety. Professor Sycamore helps get people away from the roots then remembers what Olympia said about the destruction of [[Kalos]] and what role he will play in  along with Ash and his friends then he realizes that he they might be in danger and goes to go look for them.

Diantha gets rid some of the plants to save a civilian with her ace Pokémon help then Officer Jenny comes over witch Diantha asks about the evacuation for the city which she tells her that she got every officer on duty and the roots are spreading then Diantha tells her to show her the way to the tower. Team Rocket fight off the roots with the equipment their holding commenting that this is no ordinary disaster with Malva looking at the destruction knowing this was Lysandre doing. Mairin is at one of the building then hears Alain calls and respond to them then Ash tells her that their going to Prism Tower but a root spurt up cutting them off from her then Alain sends out his Charizard to get rid of the root with help from Pikachu but the roots come back. All the officer are evacuating citizen and Squishy is still trying to reach the other Zygarde but no responses along with Squishy still running to get to Prism Tower. Malva leaves with Team Rocket questioning where she going and that they need to cover this but Malva just tells them that she remembers something important also she tells them they can do what they want. Jessie gets mad at this then gets an idea telling James and Meowth to get the camera ready which she starts broadcasting the entire event all over the city and all over Kalos telling everyone she will give her life to keep them updated on the situation.

Ash and Alain still trying to get to Mairin but the roots keeps coming back stronger then before. Celosia shows up, using her Drapion to get their attention,which Ash remembers that she was the one hunting for Squishy which Celosia finds amusing that he remembers her but she tells him that she not after Squishy today that she after Ash this time confusing him and Pikachu. Alain shocked and confused on what Celosia just said but she tells him that it's Lysandre's orders to bring Ash in hearing this Ash asks if he knows her but Alain doesn't answer which Celosia answers for him by telling him that Alain does know her and that their colleagues. Ash shocked that Alain works with the ones chasing Squishy asking him what's she talking about but Alain,in a state of shock, doesn't answer him. Celosia tells Alain that Lysandre wants to see him and to come with her right away also she tells him that an associate of her has gone after Squishy and to get moving. Ash tells Alain to whatever she saying to not listen to it then tries to leave with him but Alain refuses to go leaving Ash shocked. Team Flare grunts come from behind the roots so Ash would't get away from them then Celosia has her Drapion uses confuse ray on them. The confuse ray knocked Ash out with Pikachu staying to protect an unconscious Ash from the grunts, while fighting the confuse ray effects, which Celosia finds very amusing that Pikachu would protect Ash until Pikachu gave in to the confuse ray and passed out as well. Celosia tells the grunts to grab them with Alain shock on what's he done with the grunts putting objects on Ash. Jessie still reporting on the whats going in Lumiose City but get interrupted by a transmission from Lysandre with Serena, Clemont, Bonnie and Mairin getting ready to listen what he had to said.
