Kricketune made her debut appearance in ''[[DP049|Dawn's Early Night!]]''. She was with Nando when he planned to challenge [[Fantina]], but due to her absence, he was unable to do so. He later entered Kricketune in the [[Hearthome City]] [[Pokémon Contest]], where she competed in a [[Double Performance]] alongside his {{p|Sunflora}}. By combining their {{m|Sing}} and {{m|GrassWhistle}} moves, they put on a stunning musical performance that ensured Nando's advance to the [[Contest Battle|Battle Round]]. Kricketune was also seen in battle against [[Jessie|Jessilina]] alongside his {{TP|Nando|Roselia}}, where she defeated her {{TP|Jessie|Seviper}} and {{TP|Jessie|Dustox}} with a powerful {{m|X-Scissor}}.

In ''[[DP106|A Breed Stampede!]]'', she was revealed to have helped Nando win a Ribbon from [[Beach Rose Town]].

Kricketune next appeared in ''[[DP175|Opposites Interact!]]'', where she was shown to have helped Nando win his second-round match in the [[Sinnoh Grand Festival]].

Kricketune was the final Pokémon used by Nando for his battle with {{Ash}} in ''[[DP183|League Unleashed!]]''. She faced [[Ash's Heracross]], and like in its battle with Leafeon, was evenly matched. After a fierce battle, Kricketune was defeated by Heracross's {{m|Horn Attack}}, resulting in Nando's elimination from the [[Lily of the Valley Conference]].

Kricketune appears to be a Pokémon trusted by Nando and being used by him often. The fact that he wished to challenge [[Fantina]] with her and even used her against his final battle with Ash, while fully knowing Ash's confidence in his Pokémon, reflects his own confidence in his Kricketune. She appears to be a strong Pokémon, taking direct hits from opponents, but still standing on.
