:From what I understand, [[Special:AbuseFilter/3|filter 3]] is only triggered when you use multiple ''and sequential'' line-break tags so a single or individual multiple tags won't warn you.
:<nowiki><br></nowiki> is standard HTML. <nowiki><br /></nowiki> is standard XHTML, since XHTML requires tags to be closed. ([http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_br.asp source]) <nowiki><br/></nowiki> is acceptable in HTML, but it's nonstandard, while it's indifferent from <nowiki><br /></nowiki> in XHTML; the space is used for compatibility with older browsers. The W3C also states that the slash is optional. ([https://w3c.github.io/html-reference/syntax.html#void-element source], mentioned in one of the answers to [https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1946426/html-5-is-it-br-br-or-br/1946442#1946442 the Stack Overflow question] I linked to in my edit summary) [[User:SatoMew2|SatoMew2]] ([[User talk:SatoMew2|talk]]) 00:07, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
