:Yep. They really made this Mewtwo's creation a subtle affair. We don't know who's behind it or why—we barely have silhouettes of the scientists—but Unova's Mewtwo was treated even worse than Team Rocket's. Its personality is also notably different. How is this possible? Artistic liberty. The directors and writers wanted a new Mewtwo, so they made one up. In the recent [[M17|Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction]], we see Ylveltal's Oblivion Wing, which had the same effect to whatever it hit as to the blast Mew and Mewtwo did that accidentally hit Ash.
