For more information on this Pokémon's species, see Pichu.
Pichu (Japanese: ピチューPichu) is a Lightning-type Baby Pokémon card. It was first released as part of the Neo Genesis expansion.
If this Baby Pokémon is your Active Pokémon and your opponent tries to attack, your opponent flips a coin (before doing anything else required in order to use that attack). If tails, your opponent's turn ends without an attack.
Does 20 damage to each Pokémon in play that has a Pokémon Power. Don't apply Weakness and Resistance.
Japanese e-Reader Press Conference Sample (March 2001)
The card was reprinted with new artwork by CR CG gangs as part of the Sample Set, a small collection of cards created in order to promote the e-Reader prior to its release in Japan on December 1, 2001. This print is part of the first produced collection of 3 cards utilized at the Game Boy Advance product announcement meeting held during a press conference in Tokyo on March 7, 2001, with the demonstrations given by Tsunekazu Ishihara. Due to its placement at the end of the Neo Era, it contains elements of both the Neo Era and e-Card Era, maintaining its level, but updating to an e-Card card design. It was never intended for distribution, but an unknown amount of copies of this print have made their way out to the public.
Space World Sample (August 2001)
At the Space World event in 2001, hosted in Tokyo's International Exhibition Center, updated Sample Set cards were used to demonstrate the e-Reader's functionality in both Japanese and English. The new sample card used non-holo Neo Genesis artwork but featured the e-Card strip on the left and base of the card. The Japanese version featured a 'Sample' stamp in place of the usual set logo, whereas the English card featured no logo at all.
