When used in the field, reduces wild Pokémon encounter rate by 50%. This effect will last until a map transition takes place.

Generation V to Pokémon X and Y

The Black Flute serves no practical purpose other than to be sold.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

When used in the field, increases the level of wild Pokémon by one to four levels. The effect disappears when the player leaves the area.
