With TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX, the Pokémon TCG Will Never Be the Same! is an animated trailer announcing the introduction of TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX. It revealed the card Pikachu & Zekrom-GX as well.

The Pikachu & Zekrom-GX card, which is featured in this trailer.

It was first shown at the 2018 World Championships. [1] The trailer was posted on the United States Pokémon YouTube channel on August 24, 2018.

Plot

The early parts of this video are rendered in a series of static pencil sketches that are gradually drawn into the frame. The first shot depicts the drawer and their pencil.

A Pikachu in a field with flowers in it notices the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom. They battle against each other. Afterward, the two become friends and practice their Lightning-type attacks together.

At this point, the trailer incorporates light animation.

Both Pikachu and Zekrom walk down a tunnel.

The sketches gradually gain color for the remainder of the trailer.

The end of the tunnel reveals a stadium, which Pikachu & Zekrom stride into. The two dive into battle, with Zekrom entering Overdrive Mode.

The final shot is given increasing amounts of detail. The TAG TEAM frame corners float into view, while the TAG TEAM label spins into existence next to the upper left frame corner. With a flash, both the art and the frame are combined, forming the Pikachu & Zekrom-GX card. Lightning streaks across the background and foreground.

One last bolt of lighting trasitions to the "GX TAG TEAM" logo.

The story from this trailer appears to continue in the Use the Buddy System in Pokémon TCG: Sun & Moon- Team Up! trailer.
