I had a theory today. If hex B6, B7, B8 in Red and Blue are special forms of Missingno.; then wouldn't it be logical to assume that they are too in Yellow? I tested this out today and I was correct. All three have different sprites than the regular Yellow Missingno., and do ''not'' freeze the game at all, they act like regular Pokémon. [http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:YGlitchB6.png This] is the sprite of Yellow hex B6, just to show you. So I'm guessing that this probably is going to require a lot of changes to the page. We have small inconsistency on that term. {{p|Lotad}}, {{p|Seedot}} and {{p|Surskit}} are considered to be version-exclusive (though the last one isn't on species page because it's Emerald versus Ruby and Sapphire), but {{p|Regice}} and {{p|Registeel}} aren't. All five require interaction with another game (mixing records or Unova Link). They're linked normally in availability template, but in version-exclusives only the first three are listed, golems aren't. So, what is what? And was Abra's yield changed in Gen III for real? Because I've hacked to get a Lv. 100 wild Abra, but the yield is THE same; 1042. By that level, there should be a difference. Formula with old yield gives me 1042,8 (after rounding down it's 1042). With the "new" yield, it would be 1071,4. So seriously, what? There was no change. At all. Ever. Lv. 100 Geodude gives 1228 in both games, which sets its yield at 85,96 (86 in article, so it's right after rounding, though it's rounded up here). The same. No change.  The so-called "new" yield would give as much as Abra gives. ._. Machop's 1257 vs 1257 (yield of 88; 75 would give 1071). Still nothing. Now Omanyte and Kabuto, which weren't tested. Omanyte 1714 vs 1714, putting yield at NOT 99 (since that would give 1414), but 119,98. Kabuto? 1700, no change, putting yield at exactly 119, instead of the 99. I seriously ask - was the person doing this halfasleep or something? :It is apparently different between [http://upokecenter.dreamhosters.com/dex/?lang=en&version=yellow&view=baseexp Yellow] and [http://upokecenter.dreamhosters.com/dex/?lang=en&view=baseexp Black]. ::Black rather isn't a good comparision, as the whole experience system was changed, including most of the experience yields, as I mentioned earlier. Also Yellow... Abra - 1042; Geodude - 1228; Machop - 1257; Omanyte - 1714; Kabuto - 1700. The same. ..........*CLAP CLAP CLAP*. The site's correct. What was listed as Gen III change, was actually Generation IV. Lv. 100 Abra gives 1071, Machop also 1071... Kabuto and Omanyte - 1414... Geodude's 1042. Tested on Platinum. ::::::::Hidden text is quite often speculation. If it is not visible it is not really an issue. Having said that, I personally don't like it, but some people do and it doesn't really do much harm as long as people aren't editing articles just to add it, and that entire paragraphs aren't hidden.
::::::::What we know is that Fuji was on the island. We have no idea if it was for research. So Dr. Fuji has no more connection to the island than Mr. Fuji. Meaning that we must resort to developer psychology over in-universe reasoning, in which case either they are the same character or Mr. Fuji is the visitor as Dr. Fuji is not someone that you can assume (which was required by the sign). I've made a compromise-ish edit to Faraway Island that mentions it may be either (although emphasis is still on Mr. Fuji). --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

This is my two cents on these matters. It'd make this wiki far more reliable than what it is, help the content be truly encyclopedic and accurate and we could get a better repo on the Internet for being a good source of information. :I don't see the point of providing a pronunciation guide when the meaning is unknown; if the person can read Japanese then knowing what they say is useful; if they can't, it is not. I think Japanese text is currently uniformly presented anyway (with "(Japanese: <text>)" after the relevant English name). I understand the appeal of implying "Japanese:" after the first usage rather than repeatedly specifying it, but I prefer the current method as it is both more uniform and and means that if the Japanese text is not in the same section as other Japanese text and a link leads directly to that section, the user is not required to search for the original usage to determine the language. I don't see how our current method is any more complex than a template. I think translations are important even if they are the same as the English text, as otherwise there is no way of knowing that it ''is'' the same as the English translation rather than simply untranslated. This kind of template is useful on Wikipedia where they have many different languages to deal with, but here it is almost always Japanese so such a template can easily function as simple text.
:The text is from Generation III. Specifically FRLG, yes, but it is what the text in like in Generation III. In regards to the Generation I games, I prefer to refer to them as that since listing them is difficult due to the language differences. But it should not be Generation II and HeartGold and SoulSilver; either Generation II and IV or Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. So I think "Generation I games" and "FireRed and LeafGreen" as headers could work, but "Generation I" and "Generation III" is more consistent with other articles anyway. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
:As far as I can tell, &hellip; (<nowiki>&hellip;</nowiki>) always renders exactly the same as … and &#8943; (<nowiki>&#8943;</nowiki>) as ⋯. The HTML purpose is that it is difficult to type, and sometimes the characters have technical uses (such as <nowiki>&quot;</nowiki> being useful to put " inside {{template|tt}} without breaking it).
:I'm not sure if I can agree with any of your proposed improvements are applicable here at all.  --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
::The template would provide code uniformity, not presentation uniformity. In terms of presentation, it would allow for standardized flexibility and adaptability. If Wikipedia, which has to deal with a lot more than we do, and has far more discussions on these matters than we do, uses such elements, then I don't see why we can't either. Might seem unnecessary here but makes everything a lot easier.
::The consistency issue is irrelevant if we prefer accuracy. And to be honest, accuracy is more important than consistency for the sake of it. It shouldn't be a problem to do what I do as it's presenting correct information, even not being consistent, which is irrelevant here.
::<nowiki>&#8943;</nowiki> doesn't always render the same. Just look at the Faraway Island article, where the Sign template is used. You admitted that it is useful for usage within templates and yet you went against that same premise when removing it from the template.
::I fail to see how any of this is damaging to the wiki (and it isn't). [[User:SatoMew2|<b><span style="color:blue">Sato</span></b>]][[User talk:SatoMew2|<b><span style="color:pink">Mew</span></b>]] 22:30, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
:::I don't see how the code we currently use is not uniform already. Simply saying "Wikipedia has decided to use it so it must be good" is not an argument for it; evidence must be provided that it is necessary here (e.g. Wikipedia has plenty of policies that simply could not work here due to the difference in size). Wikipedia has a lot more different languages to deal with than us, so the template is particularly useful for them. For us, everything can be uniformly managed without the need for a template. What I will grant is that the Wikipedia template provides a link to an article about installing the character set; this ''is'' something that could be applied here, and as far as I can see, the only real reason we would have to implement a template for this purpose. However, since everything uses Japanese we could probably just put up a general notice (a vast majority of pages have Japanese text on them). I suppose we do have Korean and Chinese text in the "In other languages" sections too (and Korean sometimes on events pages too), but that could easily be addressed by adding such a link to {{template|Langtable}} and making a template like {{wp|Template:Contains Korean text}} to put at the top of the relevant event pages.
:::It is not inaccurate to say text is from a generation rather than specifying the game it is from, as long as it is the only example of that text in that generation. So since both are accurate, the issue is consistency.
:::I think you misunderstood what I was saying when I said it was useful to use HTML for complex characters in templates. It is only useful to do so when the character causes a technical issue. If you put " inside {{template|tt}}, it breaks it (compare {{tt|this|you can't read "this"}} and {{tt|this|you can read &quot;this&quot;}}). The ellipse does not cause technical issues, so I don't see the need to use the HTML code. It doesn't do any harm, but it isn't necessary and makes more sense to use the actual character when you can. As far as I can tell, the characters look exactly the same using the HTML method as using the regular character.
:::I don't think I ever said any of it is damaging to the wiki. Most of it is just unnecessary or inconsistent (or both). --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 01:50, 28 December 2012 (UTC)

hey um, I was wondering why the number of edits you need to make to gain autoconfirmed status is secret? im not asking for the number or something, just curious [[User:Latias1290|Latias1290]] ([[User talk:Latias1290|talk]]) 18:45, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
:Because we don't want people to quickly make the required number of edits, give up on the mainspace, and solely edit their userspace. [[Typhlosion (Pokémon)|<span style="color:#C00;">★</span>]][[User:Jo The Marten|<span style="color:#C00;">Jo the Marten</span>]][[Flygon (Pokémon)|<span style="color:#C00;">★</span>]] [[User_Talk:Jo The Marten|<span style="color:#C00;">ಠ_ಠ</span>]][[Cilan (anime)|<span style="color:#90C870;">♥</span>]] 23:12, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

If you want to edit someone else's userspace, you must ask them first. You did not ask me before editing my archive template. :#SnorlaxMonster did not edit your page, Spriteit did.
:#Staff members are allowed to edit personal pages of other users at any time, provided that they do not change the output. Removing non-existent templates, as Spriteit did on your page, falls under this. This is because non-existent templates show up on the wanted pages list if someone is trying to use them. Spriteit's edit did not in any way change the appearance nor functionality of your template. <span class="sc">[[User:Werdnae|<span style="color:#2D4B98;">Werdnae</span>]]</span> <small>[[User talk:Werdnae|<span style="color:#009000;">(talk)</span>]]</small> 19:57, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Move deleter and move relearner [http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2872/bpkmnwh25120871.png Japanese names] (both doesn't match with what we have, while the third is Move Tutor... renamed? Relearner was renamed to Reminder in English, but what about Deleter?)... also what move tutors (oddly enough, Driftveil doesn't have the Move Tutor on Town Map)? You might also want to take a look at [http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1065/pocketmonstersfireredja.png this], to see if in Japanese FRLG Blue refers to himself by different title than "Pokémon Champion" or "Pokémon League Champion". (also seeing how the Underground Ruins chambers' names are based off keys...we might wanna also go for [http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/9177/gracidea.png Japanese names]{{tt|*|First is difficulty (Easy, Normal, Challenge), then Area (Forest and then City), and last are Ruins (Rock Peak, Iron and Iceberg - in that order)}} of these things) [[User:Marked +-+-+|Marked +-+-+]] ([[User talk:Marked +-+-+|talk]]) 12:37, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
:I think that the names we have is the names of the individuals, while this is the names of the services. For example, わざおしえ人 is ''Move Teacher'' and what we currently have on [[Move Tutor]], while わざおしえ is ''Move Teaching'' and what the map says. "Move relearner" has always been a fan term for an unnamed character (well, they have been called "Move Maniacs" before or something to that effect). League Champ is ポケモン リーグの ちょうてん ''Pokémon League's Greatest'' in Japanese—it looks like it may not even be a proper term for the title and just his name for himself though. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 14:13, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
