And was Abra's yield changed in Gen III for real? Because I've hacked to get a Lv. 100 wild Abra, but the yield is THE same; 1042. By that level, there should be a difference. Formula with old yield gives me 1042,8 (after rounding down it's 1042). With the "new" yield, it would be 1071,4. So seriously, what? There was no change. At all. Ever. Lv. 100 Geodude gives 1228 in both games, which sets its yield at 85,96 (86 in article, so it's right after rounding, though it's rounded up here). The same. No change.  The so-called "new" yield would give as much as Abra gives. ._. Machop's 1257 vs 1257 (yield of 88; 75 would give 1071). Still nothing. Now Omanyte and Kabuto, which weren't tested. Omanyte 1714 vs 1714, putting yield at NOT 99 (since that would give 1414), but 119,98. Kabuto? 1700, no change, putting yield at exactly 119, instead of the 99. I seriously ask - was the person doing this halfasleep or something? :It is apparently different between [http://upokecenter.dreamhosters.com/dex/?lang=en&version=yellow&view=baseexp Yellow] and [http://upokecenter.dreamhosters.com/dex/?lang=en&view=baseexp Black]. It may be that the old values were more outdated than we thought, but they appear to have changed at some point. Try different generations and compare. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

::::::Yet somehow put a comment on Mr. Fuji's article to hide the hometown parameter, filled in as "Cinnabar Island". And you're still using speculation as the ground for what should be in the articles. Speculations '''are ''not''''' facts. An encyclopedic wiki should use facts ''and'' reliable sources as long as it's possible. Yes, it is something that it is not officially clear and we have to present possible facts but that's precisely the point of claiming that it's Dr. Fuji over Mr. Fuji. We know the former to be a researcher, a scientist, who is obviously more likely to be related with the scientific discovery of Mew and its cloning that resulted in Mewtwo. {{tt|All we know about Mr. Fuji is that he is not native to Lavender Town and that he takes care of orphaned Pokémon.|I'm talking about his life and his activities; the fact Team Rocket kidnapped him is irrelevant to this discussion}}. So Dr. Fuji, regardless of having a prominent presence or not, is the most appropriate choice. ::::::::Hidden text is quite often speculation. If it is not visible it is not really an issue. Having said that, I personally don't like it, but some people do and it doesn't really do much harm as long as people aren't editing articles just to add it, and that entire paragraphs aren't hidden.
::::::::What we know is that Fuji was on the island. We have no idea if it was for research. So Dr. Fuji has no more connection to the island than Mr. Fuji. Meaning that we must resort to developer psychology over in-universe reasoning, in which case either they are the same character or Mr. Fuji is the visitor as Dr. Fuji is not someone that you can assume (which was required by the sign). I've made a compromise-ish edit to Faraway Island that mentions it may be either (although emphasis is still on Mr. Fuji). --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

This is my two cents on these matters. It'd make this wiki far more reliable than what it is, help the content be truly encyclopedic and accurate and we could get a better repo on the Internet for being a good source of information. :I don't see the point of providing a pronunciation guide when the meaning is unknown; if the person can read Japanese then knowing what they say is useful; if they can't, it is not. I think Japanese text is currently uniformly presented anyway (with "(Japanese: <text>)" after the relevant English name). I understand the appeal of implying "Japanese:" after the first usage rather than repeatedly specifying it, but I prefer the current method as it is both more uniform and and means that if the Japanese text is not in the same section as other Japanese text and a link leads directly to that section, the user is not required to search for the original usage to determine the language. I don't see how our current method is any more complex than a template. I think translations are important even if they are the same as the English text, as otherwise there is no way of knowing that it ''is'' the same as the English translation rather than simply untranslated. This kind of template is useful on Wikipedia where they have many different languages to deal with, but here it is almost always Japanese so such a template can easily function as simple text.
:The text is from Generation III. Specifically FRLG, yes, but it is what the text in like in Generation III. In regards to the Generation I games, I prefer to refer to them as that since listing them is difficult due to the language differences. But it should not be Generation II and HeartGold and SoulSilver; either Generation II and IV or Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver. So I think "Generation I games" and "FireRed and LeafGreen" as headers could work, but "Generation I" and "Generation III" is more consistent with other articles anyway. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
:As far as I can tell, &hellip; (<nowiki>&hellip;</nowiki>) always renders exactly the same as … and &#8943; (<nowiki>&#8943;</nowiki>) as ⋯. The HTML purpose is that it is difficult to type, and sometimes the characters have technical uses (such as <nowiki>&quot;</nowiki> being useful to put " inside {{template|tt}} without breaking it).
:I'm not sure if I can agree with any of your proposed improvements are applicable here at all.  --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Would we need hexadecimal disambigs, or do the current numerical disambigs suffice? --[[User:Abcboy|Abcboy]] ([[User talk:Abcboy|talk]]) 02:48, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

:Maybe. I suppose it would be helpful to easily check things like which item corresponds to which move when dealing with data shifting glitches like the Celebi Egg glitch and remaining HP glitch. --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#A70000">'''Snorlax'''</span>]][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|<span style="color:#0000A7">'''Monster'''</span>]] 16:51, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
