never mind, it would seem the move behaves as normal and turns into tri-attack in secret base battles like it should, but tri-attack is a fairy type with pixilate. I tested it out using Greninja, Leafeon and Sylveon. Sylveon transferred its ability to leafeon who then friendly fired greninja for a super effective attack.
