Does a Pokémon with Illusion actually trick the AI? Or does the AI cheat and still know that it's, say, a Zorua even though the Illusion wasn't broken yet? This could easily be tested. Put a pure Fighting or Poison type Pokémon (like Machop) in the last spot in your party, put a slow Zorua (just to make sure that the AI Pokémon goes first) in the first spot and go up against a trainer with a Pokémon that has Psychic attacks, but not ''solely'' Psychic attacks.<br> | |||

If it tries to hit what it thinks is a Machop with a super-effective move and that Machop is inexplicably immune against that move, would it then blindly continue using that move, despite its ineffectiveness? Or would it get the hint that maybe things are not as they seem and switch to a different move? Both cases seem notable to me, but trainer AI is generally barely documented on this wiki, so that might be just me.
