::I did some more math and figured out what's wrong. This page's infobox gives the current length (i.e. up to the day you're reading it), even though we have an end date in the infobox and it would make much more sense for it to give the actual length from start to end dates. So while this page's infobox currently says it's 1080 days long in Japan (and would thus be shorter than the 1096-day Gen 2), Generation V will actually last 1120 days by the time we get around to October 12. Figuring that out was quite an ordeal.
