Talk:Generation V: Difference between revisions

::I did some more math and figured out what's wrong. This page's infobox gives the current length (i.e. up to the day you're reading it), even though we have an end date in the infobox and it would make much more sense for it to give the actual length from start to end dates. So while this page's infobox currently says it's 1080 days long in Japan (and would thus be shorter than the 1096-day Gen 2), Generation V will actually last 1120 days by the time we get around to October 12. Figuring that out was quite an ordeal. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:06, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

I was referring to the English days (not the Japanese) Those days listed in my above mentioning are English Only Days.--Pokemon26 (talk) 19:42, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

:Yes, I'm aware of that. I assumed you would look at the history (as I linked to) and be aware of what I was talking about, but you didn't, so I'll explain. The trivium originally stated "Generation V was the shortest generation in Japan", but User:HeroicJay removed it a couple of weeks ago, saying "No, it was shortest in English, Gen 2 was shorter in Japan". Since it's better to just fix things than remove them, I reverted him and updated it to "...shortest generation in English-speaking territories", which I assumed was correct from his edit summary, but I didn't check. Then, several weeks later, you came along and pointed this out, so I looked at the infoboxes, updated it back to "...shortest generation in Japan" (because I was confused about the fact that the infobox goes up to the present date, not the end date), and finally figured it out and removed the point altogether, as Generation V will not be the shortest generation anywhere by the time it ends.
:TLDR summary: I'm rambling on this talk page about things that are semi-related but happened a couple of weeks ago. Your message prompted me to check the actual facts. The page should be correct now. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 20:11, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
