So... what happens if you check your PokéNav here? TTEchidnaGSDS! 07:31, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Maybe it's not accesible? OptimatumTalk|07:35 24 Feb 2008

It should be. TTEchidnaGSDS! 07:40, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
As in the map, not the area...OptimatumTalk|07:44 24 Feb 2008

I know. It should be, since it's accessible from Southern Island. There's no reason for it not to be... TTEchidnaGSDS! 07:45, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Wait, do you mean to say you hacked your Mew? OptimatumTalk|07:46 24 Feb 2008

In Diamond my Mew are all legit. I've just been to Southern Island in RSE. TTEchidnaGSDS! 08:40, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

So i was playing around in google maps and i found several small, barely noticeable islands just off the coast of Guyana. I wonder which one is Faraway Island. Morgil27 20:50, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Is this the only way so far to actually catch a mew? Vladashram 09:06, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Map

Maybe responding to a really old question, but also this could be of help to the article itself. Anyone feel free to add this if needed. This is what happens when you check your PokéNav while in the island:

If it wasn't for the border so it matched other maps, we might be able to use it. --SnorlaxMonster 14:16, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Artwork

Where did it come from? --Abcboy (talk) 16:50, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Pokémon Festa 2005 (found info at Filb.de (German) and at a Japanese blog called PokeTetsu). SatoMew 13:11, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

September!

Just a little linguistic divertissement for you.

The English, German, French and Italian version suggest the last 4 months of the year.
In English the …ber could indicate only september, october, november or dicember.
In German the ...ber could indicate only September, Oktober, November or Dezember.
In French the ...bre could indicate only septembre, octobre, novembre or décembre.
In Italian the ... bre could indicate only settembre, ottobre, novembre or dicembre.

In Spanish instead the ...mbre excludes october (octubre) and could only refer to septiembre, noviembre or diciembre. We are left with only three months.

The original Japanese in-game text is not useful as it only says がつ (gatsu), which is the ending of every month name in Japanese written, as usual, in kana. In kanji it would be . It means month or moon.
September: 九月 kugatsu. Written in kana: くがつ.
November: 十一月 jūichigatsu. Written in kana: じゅういちがつ.
December: 十二月 (jūnigatsu). Written in kana: じゅうにがつ.
Interesting, but how is all of this useful?
If you look at the picture of the artwork of the sign in this very article, it seems that there could be room for just one kana character before the -gatsu (the first hole in the map at the beginning of the text). September seems to be the only month among the ones contemplated by the western localizations to be able to fit! The others have too many characters. Eureka!

In case you are wondering if the Spanish version made a mistake excluding october, it also is too long to fit in the picture of the Japanese map: 十月 jūgatsu, written in kana: じゅうがつ. --Siegfried (talk) 16:28, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
